"The city walls and minster cathedral was 5 minute walk away leading straight to the shops restaurants and bars all within easy access plus having the car park is a blessing,the railway station and railway museum was about 15 minute walk away,the staff at the hotel where pleasant helpful and polite with no issues,the room was comfortable clean and warm so would we stay again yes with no issues "

"Lovely big quiet room, warm friendly welcome and a good breakfast in very pleasant dining area with a glorious view out to Clifford's Tower. Wide choice of pubs and good places to eat with 2 mins walk. Easy walking to all major attractions and very close to bus links. Great value for money but felt "high end""

"While we were welcomed with a smile and the check-in process was efficient, the breakfast was far from satisfactory and does not reflect the usual high standards expected from your establishment. Having stayed at this hotel before, I have come to anticipate better quality. Unfortunately, both mornings' breakfasts fell short. The food served was merely lukewarm and unappetizing. The bacon was congealed and clumped together, the scrambled eggs were dry, and the beans were in the same unfortunate state as the bacon. The sausages were overcooked yet somehow still served at a tepid temperature. Furthermore, the mixed fruit was bland, and I was disappointed to find no natural yogurt available, which I prefer with my fruit. As an I.H.G. member, I find this experience unacceptable and urge you to address these issues to maintain the standards that guests expect."

"The room was very average poor storage especially in the bathroom. The bath was very slippery and the handle was of little use getting in or out of the bath. The soap and shampoo were unreachable when having a bath as they were too high. Breakfast very poor on the first day, no fruit or yoghurt left, undercooked poached eggs."

"Location excellent all within walking distance, from train station,never used the gym, stayed 2 nights went to Grand Theatre beautiful theatre. Gorgeous city, York walls disappointing as you cant walk the whole way around there not complete and at one point we were looking how to rejoin them. Also walls have a shear drop to the side no barrier wirh areas of wall walk very narrow Another area we were walking on pavement along 4 lanes of traffic. Chester walls complete able to walk whole way around with walls either side of the path.Minster really worth a visit. This hotel has an excellent Japanese restaurant Sora this was amazing. Also had a brilliant saxophonist on the saturday night highly recommend will "
