"My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous 2 week holiday with our 2 dogs. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. There if you need anything but not intrusive of our holiday. The gite is lovely. Bed very comfortable and everything clean. Hot water all the time. Everything you need in the kitchen. Air con unit in the lounge and fans upstairs. The garden is the gem. It is huge with mature trees for shade, a pétanque pitch, picnic table and bbq. A few steps across the shared driveway but then totally enclosed and safe for your pets and or children. The pool was heated to a lovely temperature too. Chickens, a cockerel, a pony and horse wander around the other side of the fence which was lovely. Peaceful and so relaxing. We enjoyed a trip to Chateau D’Usse… highly recommend! Dog friendly too. Also twice we walked along the river to La Chapelle sur Loire and had a fabulous lunch at the restaurant Nuances. Our dogs swam in the river along the route. (You need to walk approx 200 metres in the wrong direction along the road to find the path to drop down to the river side path) We also enjoyed exploring Chinon old town very much. Nearby (5 min drive) in Bourgueil is the massive Super U Supermarket which is brilliant. Also in Bourgueil are numerous wineries. We visited the ones near the Abbey. We had a lovely impromptu lunch in the gardens of hotel le thouarsais - chez Pylo’gis. Dog friendly and so welcoming. We hope to go back and would highly recommend."
