Family-friendly farm house, pool & tennis court, with large garden, near Loire
10/10 Excellent
"This is a beautiful house in a rural surroundings. The lovely yellow rapeseed flowers were out everywhere, so it's a pretty drive in. A non-English speaking neighbour shoed our friends around the property, which was probably unneeded as they couldn't understand anything, but might be good if you're French :) We appreciated the coffee machine, and most needed kitchen items were there, bar a toaster. The beds were comfortable and it was great we didn't have to worry about sheets. The layout worked well for our 3 families. 3 big kids in one room, two middle kids in another, and the little one in with mum and dad, then 2 other doubles. We loved playing tennis, and there are enough racquets and sports kit for everyone. We rode the bikes (10-20 mins) to the place you can order bread and pastries, and we swam in a local lake. (20 min drive away) Sadly there was a mis-communication, and the pool was not able to be used when we were there, so do double check this if on boarder seasons. The grounds are lovely - we put up hammocks (theirs) and played table tennis (theirs) and badminton (ours). We didn't use / have access to the other little house onsite. We drove to chateaus and vineyards, and local villages with cute markets. There are also loads of board games (some in dutch or French), and Dutch cookbooks. We had a lovely time, would recommend! "
LOVELY COTTAGE IN THE LOIR VALLEY 1h from the Châteaux & 40 min from le Mans
10/10 Excellent
"A beautiful house, full of charm and character, and fantastic grounds to explore. Wonderful views over the village and an idyllic, secluded and private setting; even nicer than it looks in the photos! Lovely swimming pool and seating area around it. Very easy walk into the village to visit the boulangerie. Michel was extremely helpful with all questions, and we had a lovely welcome from the property manager. We had two lovely weeks with our young children here and would highly recommend this house for families. "
Gîte in the castle - private pool with view - charm, history and nature
10/10 Excellent
"We really enjoyed our stay. A beautiful house with spectacular views. The pool was brilliant and so convenient to have the pool house also. Marina was very attentive. The perfect place for 3 generations to enjoy a family holiday."
"We loved meeting Roc and staying here! This is a French country house and got us out of the city and into the beautiful countryside. Roc was welcoming, gave us access to his family home and gardens, and an excellent restaurant recommendation in a nearby town. He even called to make a reservation for us. "
"We arrived 3 hours early, but were allowed to check-in early- brilliant! Also, the proprietor kindly let us put some food items in their fridge to keep cold. There was a Music festival going on that evening, which was great fun, and we watched later on from our bedroom window- unfortunatly there was still music going on at 02.45, but not the Hotel's fault. Breakfast next morning was good."
"Lovely hotel - booked as a base for the Le Mans 24hr race, comfortable and helpful and friendly staff. Lovely little town, very relaxed and a perfect place to stay to relax. "
