La Grange aux Lumières - Heated swimming pool - Nature

"Martine was there to meet us when we arrived, very friendly and helpful. Her English was better than our French. The property was as advertised - a well-stocked kitchen with induction hob (and all the right pots and pans for this), a clean oven, and all the cutlery and utensils we'd be likely to need. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable and even the cockerel had the manners not to start crowing (is that the right word?) until around 10am, so sleep wasn't interrupted. It's a really quiet village but within very easy reach of a good supermarket with lots of fresh food and vegetables. It was a really, really hot week when we went and the prolonged drought meant that the grounds were totally parched, but there's plenty of space and after a little rain it will all be green again. During the week, we travelled as far south as Le Mans and Mont Saint-Michel, and up to the Normandy beaches in the north, and still had places we wanted to see and didn't have time. So, recommended for a week or longer, although I think shorter lets are available. We travelled from Portsmouth in the UK to Caen by ferry, which was really convenient and the drive to the house took less than an hour - once we'd got through customs."

"Unique character building with friendly owners in a charming setting. Lovely backdrop and tasty breakfast in the morning of local breads. If you find yourself needing to stay in the area, I would thoroughly recommend this quiet out of the way property."

"We hebben met een gezelschap van negen personen een fijne vakantie gehad in deze verbouwde boerderij. De boerderij heeft voldoende (slaap) kamers (met goede bedden) en is ruim. We hebben heerlijk onder de bomen bij het water kunnen zitten. Er is een goede Intermarché op zes minuten rijden. Er zijn leuke stadjes in de omgeving en veel wandelroutes. De eigenaar is vriendelijk en de communicatie is goed verlopen."

"Dieses Haus ist wunderbar. Das Nachbarehepaar Lemaitre, die den Check in betreuen ist ganz zauberhaft. Ein Anwesen voller Geschichte und Erinnerungen. Unsere Hunde haben sich auch sehr wohlgefühlt. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!"

Large manor house for rent in Normandy, a stone's throw from Suisse Normande!

"Wir waren mit 6 Erwachsenen und 8 Kindern zwischen 12 und 18 Jahren eine Woche dort. Das Haus ist sehr großzügig und bietet ausreichend Platz. Gute Lage für Ausflüge in die Normandie. Der Pool und die Spielscheune sind klasse und wurden von uns viel genutzt. Auf dem Anwesen befinden sich drei weitere Wohneinheiten. Das ging aus der Anzeige leider nicht hervor, war aber am Ende nicht störend. Wir würden es wieder buchen."
