"A wonderful hotel that captures authentic rustic French charm, with a lovely, relaxed ambience. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a family suite consisting of two large rooms, connected by a private hallway, with a spacious bathroom. Everything was immaculately clean, the bed linen was of good quality, the beds were very comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. The breakfast buffet was fresh and plentiful, with homemade pastries, as well as English breakfast tea! We would absolutely recommend staying here and would happily return."

"This is a a beautiful old chateau which operates as a hotel. The staff is lovely and very accommodating to travelers. I do t speak any French and the staff speaks little English but we managed just fine. I stayed in the carriage house. The room was very basic but had a remodeled bathroom. Probably the biggest issue was the heat and a lack of air conditioning. I had temps ranging from 98-102 the entire time I was there so that was hard. Just know this when you plan. The restaurant is wonderful and reasonable for Europe. It was the best food I had in three weeks traveling in Europe. One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. Breakfasts are wonderful and again, very reasonable. Fresh fruit, ham, meat and cheeses along with fresh breads and pastries. You should definitely rent a car if staying her. Ubers are a fortune to and from this location. Double of what you would expect. It’s not walkable to town or any conveniences. That said, it was a quiet and very quaint stay and again, the staff was fantastic."
La Borde en Sologne Château & Spa

"My teen daughter loved our stay at Borde and me - a little less so. She was enchanted to stay in a chateaux and loved the grounds, animals, pools, grand decor etc. This is the place to stay for anyone who would enjoy the immersive experience. I found our room to be more rustic than expected. The floors have not been refurbished (ie they are original old and crumbly and I’m sure impossible to clean) and my feet were filthy the entire stay. They do provide slippers, which was very helpful. But we’d walk around the room and then go into the bathroom and immediately the beautiful white bathroom floor was covered in dirt. Breakfast was great one morning when we arrived at 8am and a gong show the morning we arrived at 9:30. Definitely go early to breakfast or they run out of food and dishes and do not replenish it as it closer to 10am closing time. Borde isn’t very close to other restaurants so we ate at the restaurant onsite 2 nights in a row. First night was fine, second was not good and very expensive. Spa pool was lovely. We also spent some time at the family pool which is tucked away by itself and not close to bathrooms or extra towels. Not super well thought out in terms of convenience for young families. Other notes: air conditioning worked very well, wifi was strong, bed very comfortable. Also the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful."

"It was 39 degrees C when we arrived so worth saying the AC and pool were highly appreciated and used. The staff very helpful eg with regional restaurant recommendations. Great place all around"

"Forte odeur de renfermé à notre arrivée et pas mal de toiles d'araignées dans les coins mais dans l'ensemble ça allait. Très bien clôturé pour le chien. Joli parc et voisins sympathiques. Nous avions vu sur le site qu'il y avait 2 WC hors il n'y en avait qu'un !Nous avons été satisfaits de notre séjour dans ce lieu."
