"The hotel was very clean and the complementary shuttle that takes you to the airport and the basilica was very convenient. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. The only complaint I have was towards one staff member who works in reception who refused to provide a disposable fork and then later decided to charge me for one after I brought up the idea about getting one from the breakfast buffet area. "The check in and check out experiences were average nothing special, not overly friendly and warm.... Room 118 was modern, clean and well appointed but the soundproofing was one of the worst I have ever experienced with noise coming from the hallway the entire time. After I finally got to sleep when my neighbors stopped slamming doors I was rudely awakened at 5:30 a.m. with more noise in the hallway and then to top it off I was gagged by the heavy smell of grease coming from the kitchen... My room service experience was excellent, with quick service and excellent food. It is such a shame to see a potentially nice property ruined by very poor soundproofing and isolation from strong smells coming from the kitchen. I can't speak for other rooms but if this is the usual I could never stay in this hotel again. Perhaps rooms on a higher floor do not have these issues. "

"Sink was clogged for most of our stay. Had a few personal toiletry items missing from our rooms. Staff was very rude when addressing some of these concerns and didn’t really care. They tried covering up the fact that the sink was clogged by fixing it and telling us it was never clogged. If I had to do this allover again, I would have chosen a different hotel. I wish there was a way to get a refund, but it’s probably too late."
