Loved this cozy Cabin. Perfect size for a small family. The high ceiling makes it feel way more spacious. I loved the community it was in as well. Big Ski bear is only 4 minutes away if you go during the winter for skiing/snowboarding. If you need to get away from the city and want to try skiing or snowboarding this place is perfect. Owner is very responsive when you have questions.
We loved that we could be basically alone in the woods as well as 5 mins away from the pool and 10 from the beach. The boardgames were a hit as was the fire pit. Definitely would recommend!
This is a neat little cozy spot near the Delaware Water Gap. My friends and I had a great time enjoying the quiet and the beautiful nature that surrounds the house. There is reliable wifi and decent cell service, and there were plenty of people around so we still felt safe. We were not accustomed to certain practices however, so be prepared. In order to access the lake, you need to have amenity badges, which was not clear to us until after we arrived (we booked understanding that amenity badges were not available for the 4th of July weekend).
Be prepared to bring all trash and recycling to a singular location at the end (which was nifty, not something I had seen before). Also be prepared to bring your own sheets and towels.
Overall it was a comfortable stay that had most of what we needed. We did wish there was more upfront information about what we would have access to before booking, but we had a good time regardless. Also: if traveling in the summer, there is not great AC, so consider fans or other ways to stay cool.
It’s a nice property, nicely redone. Had all the amenities we needed for our stay. Loved the touch of the stock of travel sized toiletries just in case you forgot something. Was also stocked with cleaning supplies and fans, which we appreciated. We traveled with our two small boys, and having the master on the same floor as the boys’ room was so convenient. The fire pit area was great and stocked with wood.
As for the negatives…
There was a significant musty/animal smell that was apparent even walking up to the house. It set off our allergies and we lived on Claritin during our stay.
I’d recommend treating for bugs, because there were a fair amount of flying ants in the living room and master bedroom. Nothing that made us uncomfortable, just a recc.
The air conditioning was absolutely not enough to cool the house, and we weren’t even there during a heat wave. We slept with a series of fans trying to get cool air from the AC unit in the kitchen to spread through the house, but it did not work.
Beds were terribly uncomfortable and in need or replacement.
Our main gripe was that the community access was blacked out for owners only, as we visited the weekend connecting to July 4. We had no access to the pool or lake until the last day of our stay. Definitely recommend verifying with the office before booking if you’re hoping to use those amenities.
Overall I’d stay again in the fall when things cool down, and call to ensure renters can access the amenities.
It was a perfect house for our family of 4. We stayed for 2nights so we didn’t really need washer and dryer but if we would have stayed longer it would be nice to have. We love the vibe the community has. Lots to do for the whole family. Thank you
This place was perfect! Just what we were looking for. Very quiet and clean, with many amenities to choose from. We had an amazing experience, we would absolutely be happy to stay again!
Our family of four rented a house for a few days. The house is very clean and tidy, everything you need is available. The community is great. The owner of the house is a very pleasant woman, every day she was interested in how we were doing. I highly recommend this property!
We enjoyed a nice, quiet Memorial Day Weekend at Maureen's cabin. The pictures online were accurate, and the cabin was in good shape. There was some confusion in the beginning but Maureen was immediately available to answer our questions.
I would definitely rent again.
Very nice family getaway. Everyone was very helpful upon arrival. Wish the office was open longer hours for far distance travelers. The cabin was great and the fireplace by itself kept the cabin toasty. The automatic settings for fireplace worked very well. Beautiful and scenic setting.
The place was just big enough for a small group of friends or a couple’s get away. The place is refurbished inside and has all the comforts of home. The beds and futon are not the most comfortable, but they were ok for a few nights. The water pressure in the shower is amazing and the fire pit area seats 5-6 people and had plenty of wood. The community has a nice restaurant and bar for the locals called “The Summit”. Overall a lovely stay and would definitely stay again!
My family and I had a great stay at masthope. The cabin was very clean and adorable. It was perfect for my family of 5. The location was four mins from the ski mountain. You do have to be careful because the stairs leading up to the front door was slippery when the temp dropped. The host responded very quickly and answered all the questions we had. Would stay here again!
This was the ideal spot for a nature getaway. Tons of deer everywhere, so be careful driving! From from the multiple river access points and hiking to the peaceful surroundings it made for a great time. My one point was that due to the extreme heat during our stay, the air conditioner seemed ineffective so it was tough to sleep without extra fans which I went to buy.
We had a great stay at the cabin in Masthope. One suggestion I would make would be to include in the description of the rental that amenity passes are $7 per person per day for amenity use, such as the pool, lake, etc.
Other than that everything was as expected.
Thank you!

Cabin inside beautiful but outside was no clean, it was dusty, fire place chairs was dirty, inside was the best but outside look like abandoned place.
Overall, it was pleasurable. Lack of laundry facilities forced us into town for laundry. Nearest laundry is 35 minutes away. Beds left much to be desired. Amenities were plentiful. Trash compactor hours were not convenient. Very limited hours to take trash. Had to bring trash home with us. Overall very nice for a getaway.

Surprises
Was surprised to learn we needed to check in somewhere other than the house. Was surprised to learn we had to drive our garbage to an offsite location after checkout. Was surprised to learn we had to make our beds before leaving. Was surprised to learn we had enough hot water for only 1 shower. Other than that it was a cute place to stay for skiing!
What a lovely little cabin in the woods. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. Gas fireplace to add ambiance. Covered porch for sipping tea in the morning or whisky in the evening. TV was fiddly but we worked it out.
The only thing we didn't appreciate was having to bring our own sheets and towels. We have a full bed at home so I had to buy queen sheets for their bed. If I had known that immediately I might not have booked. It should be included in the original posting.
Other than that, perfect in every way.
The cabin was perfect for some time away alone. Connected with bald eagle energy at Roebling Bridge, visited the Native American festival held at the Big Bear Summit (and got to dance a little), took a ride to the quaint town of Narrowsburg along the NY side of the river, and writing came easily as I sat in front of the fire in the cabin. Everything was clean, comfortable and cozy.
Folks at Masthope Community check in were friendly and helpful.
