"The lovely room was clean, light and had everything we needed. Such a beautiful setting, and design. We loved it, The pool and spa area was great. It was disappointing that there were no options for a light evening meal at the hotel, only an expensive set menu, especially as it’s quite a drive to town. Also no food or drinks available during the day apart from snacks late afternoon. Coffee and tea was provided in the rooms but no milk available. I was reluctantly given some from the kitchen, but told to buy my own in town."
Terra Nostra Garden Hotel

"We spent three nights at Terra Nostra Garden Hotel, and it was completely worth it. We booked a standard room and requested a higher floor; the professional front desk staff accommodated us with room 138 based on availability. The room had a fantastic view, though the bed was a bit small for two. The hotel was meticulously clean, and having access to the garden and thermal pools after hours was the main highlight. The grounds are magical, filled with tall, unique overgrown trees rather than just flowers. Breakfast was phenomenal, featuring fantastic à la carte eggs and omelets served by wonderful staff. The hotel's location makes walking into Furnas village very easy. Driving is manageable since most narrow streets are one-way. Parking is limited; when the overflow lot was closed one night, we parked on a nearby street—a safe 5-to-10-minute walk with plenty of space. My only caveat is that their weekly full pool cleaning is not clearly documented. While we understood the necessity after seeing how clear the water was the next day with all algae removed, a one-night guest arriving during cleaning would struggle to justify the extra cost. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would definitely stay again."

Comfortable and clean with a private parking spot in front of the house with no passing traffic.The house is located less than a mile from some of the best attractions on Sau Miguel and is centrally located for day trips anywhere else on the island."

"We had a very enjoyable stay overall. What we loved most was the setting: the property is surrounded by nature, with spectacular grounds, incredible views and a wonderful sense of peace and privacy. We also loved the location in Furnas, close to Terra Nostra and a great base for exploring São Miguel by car.The house was generally in good condition, but there were two things to improve. From the beginning, the indoor bathroom had a small water leak. It was manageable at first, but after several consecutive uses it became much worse. There is also an outdoor bathroom, but as we were eight people, this was eventually a significant inconvenience. We reported it to the owner, but it took two days to respond. By then, we only had one day left, so there was little point in arranging a repair.We would also suggest clarifying the heated pool in the description. The water was perfect for the first three days, but then became quite cold for both children and adults. The heating cannot be controlled during the summer months, and with temperatures around 17–24C and little sunshine, the pool could not maintain a warm temperature.Apart from this issue, communication with the owner was very good. He was always kind, friendly and considerate, and made us feel very welcome. Despite the issues mentioned, we had a very positive experience and especially loved the location, nature, grounds, views and peaceful atmosphere. A beautiful place to stay in Furnas."

"This is a very special site, with a stunning view of the lake. Set above the lake, it feels very quiet and secluded. The home has a beautiful views, an open floor plan for the living and dining areas, and three nice bedrooms (all with air conditioning). I would highly recommend it for visitors."

"We checked in late, and had not received the access code prior. Due to how late we arrived it was difficult to get a hold of someone to provide the code, but with the help of VRBO we were able to contact the host and get into the property within a half hour.Other than that hiccup it was a fantastic stay and the communication from the host was superb the reat of the stay. Would highly recommend."
