Lakefront - Cozy Cottage Directly On Beautiful Lake Lure!

Lake Lure is currently being cleaned with teams removing silt and debris from the impact of Helene. The lake is not open for swimming or boating at this time. We believe the lake will be reopened by end of summer. Please check back for updates. We still have beautiful views and lots of activities to give you a great mountain vacation. Hope to see you soon.

Keeper's Cottage is a cozy one bedroom lakefront cottage with simply superb, awe inspiring views of Rumbling Bald and Shumont mountains. One of the oldest properties on Lake Lure, this charming cottage is very private, recently remodeled, and is centrally located in a family compound 2 miles from downtown Lake Lure, Ingles grocery, and approximately 3 miles from Chimney Rock State Park. Our convenient location also provides easy access - less than 1500 feet from the main highway!

The property comes with a king size bed (new mattress) and a pullout sleeper sofa to sleep a maximum of 4 people. The master bathroom has a romantic corner jacuzzi tub and shower combination, the second bathroom sports a delightful tile shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, range, dish washer, dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, toaster, coffee pot, and a gas grill is also provided for outdoor cooking. The cottage is approximately 972 square feet, with central heating and air, washer and dryer, a 4K Ultra HD TV with Dish Network, Netflix, and Hulu. Cable Internet with Wi-Fi is provided, recently upgraded to 25 Mbps. Linens and towels are provided so just come as you are!

The outside covered porch area provides for a perfect dining experience while overlooking the lake and enjoying the majestic mountain views. There is a private dock for swimming and fishing with NEW STEPS for easier access. Excellent parking.

The house was exceptionally cute and private perfect for a recharge with my spouse. Stunning views and private dock. A lot of care in this property, well maintained. The owner was the nicest person and it felt very personal. Loved the entire experience. We plan on coming back when the lake re-opens. Love supporting the Lake Lure/ Chimney Rock area since it was always a special place with amazing residents!! Highly recommend!!

Keepers Cottage is the perfect romantic getaway. It is tucked away in a quiet cove with an amazing view of the mountains. It is super clean, beautifully updated and Judy went above and beyond stocking everything you need. We really enjoyed the convenient location to Chimney Rock State Park, Chimney Rock Village and Lake Lure. There is also a fantastic grocery store and a fun challenging escape room all within a few minutes of the cottage.From Chimney Rock we were able to see the forever changed landscape of the lake and river below. We were able to walk a beautiful trail to the base of magnificent 400' Hickory Nut Falls and later eat at our favorite restaurant in Chimney Rock Village by the river. One day we ate in Lake Lure overlooking the continuous hard work recovering from the Helene destruction.It was the perfect place to celebrate our 46th anniversaryspending time together, enjoying God's creations and being inspired by the perseverance and resilience in the healing of this special place and it's people. We absolutely are looking forward to coming back in the future.Rhonda and Charlie

The Lake was drained most things around the lake were closed but would so love to come back and sit on that deck when it’s all open again

Relaxing Getaway

This cottage was great. Very relaxing. I really liked the view at sunrise from the deck. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook and there was some great restaurants around when we didn't want to cook. I will definitely be planning a trip back next year.

Majestic Views, Comfortable Lodging

We had a great stay at Keepers Cottage. The views are breathtaking and the cottage very comfy. Judy is very friendly and welcoming. We really needed a refreshing time away. While the lake isn't open yet we still enjoyed the back porch throughout most of our Saturday. We will definitely return.

1st time won’t be the last time

Decided to stay at Lake Lure because it is close to The Biltmore Estate and absolutely loved the area. The house was clean and comfortable. Every room gave toward the lake so you get that beautiful mountain lake view. Owner was friendly and very helpful throughout the renting and stay. Plan on coming back to the lake and will definitely look to rent this home again.

Relaxation

This is our 3rd time staying here and we love it! Perfect size for the two of us and you can’t beat the view. We spent time in the kayaks and from some floats from home to float around the dock area.

Great stay!

First visit here. We stayed at a cottage directly across the lake for 15yrs but my wifes arthritis in her knees is getting worse and she cant do steep steps to the water. This cottage has easy acces to house and water! Very clean too! Propeety manager and owner tried to help us with our can that wouldnt start too. Very nice! I believe this will be our "new" place. We will be back!!!

spectacular view

This was our 4th time staying at Keepers Cottage. That says it all! We love it!! This time we rented a boat for the day and it was such a fun time exploring all the coves. Our favorite thing is sitting on the porch and looking at the gorgeous view! We will be back!!

Felt like home

Lake front cottage with spectacular view of mountains backdropped on Lake Lure. Spacious cottage with glass double doors allowing beautiful lake view from comfort of both kitchen and bedroom giving the cottage a very "open" feeling. Very clean and host was very welcoming. Great restaurants/activities in nearby Chimney Rock. Easy access to Lake for fishing. Kayaks, paddles and life vests provided. Fully stocked kitchen. Spacious rooms and covered porch. Over all a great place to make lasting memories. Highly recommend.

Cozy, warm home on the lake

Overall, very relaxing, peaceful and beautiful setting on the water with mountains in the background. Free kayaking with the kayaks from their property. Convenient location near grocery store (few minutes away), Lake Lure boat rentals (few minutes away), Chimney Rock State Park and Chimney Rock Village (10 - 15 minutes away). The only thing I don’t appreciate that ALL of the VRBO’s do is that they advertise a certain daily rate when a person is searching for a place to stay, but when they show you the final daily rate after they tack on all of the extra expenses, the daily rate jumps up $100 per day or more. I realize the extra charges depend on how many days a person stays but it is still a big difference from what is advertised when shopping for a place.

Perfect location for getaway!

Great location and accommodation for couples! Judy was a pleasure to meet and made us feel right at home. Property is close to grocery store, restaurants, Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock. We look forward to visiting again soon!
