Sandy Beach Front Cottage with great Sunsets

Rare Puget Sound Cottage directly on the water with a large sandy beach! Spectacular sunsets and great marine wildlife... Orca, Humpback, and Pilot whales. Seals, Salmon, Crabs, Clams, Sand Dollars, Eagles and Seagulls. One of a kind oasis in the Pacific NorthWest.

Great spot for a romantic peaceful getaway. Snuggle up on the deck with a glass of wine and a good book while enjoying spectacular views. Or go for a beach walk on our private secluded sandy beach.

Our kids grew up on weekends here, so it is also a great spot for a family vacation. We have lots of beach toys and nothing like planting a chair in the sand while your kids run around. We can comfortably hold two families of four (8 people total) if you have the kids stay in the loft. We have had 4 adults and 6 kids for long weekends, it only gets tight in bad weather and everyone is inside.

* Note that the map location says Harstine Island, but if you look closely at the location, we are NOT on Harstine or any other island.

Amazing, something for everyone in our family (4 adults, 4 teens, and a preteen) Magical sunsets, amazing wildlife experiences. Unexpected yet amazing mattress in a pull out couch, that has an air mattress topper for amazing comfort and the best view. Came during the Summer, but want to come back for storm season in the Winter now

Beach Getaway

The beach views from the deck and the access to soft sand to play on are absolutely awesome. We made so many memories. We did several beach walks and all the neighbors were so friendly. The kids made a fort out of drift wood (just crazy boards leaning against a big log). They gathered different colored rocks and pretended they were paint...it was adorable.The only issue I had was with the comfort level of the Master bed. An easily solved problem.The kitchen was well equipped and easy to use.

wonderful beach getaway

We had a wonderful stay. The view was amazing and my kids loved being able to go down to the beach whenever. The house was well stocked and description was very accurate. My family would love to stay again.

Family visit for Holidays

Location was perfect for our family in Lake Bay. Views and accommodations were just what we needed. Definitely off the beaten path. Great views being right on the water.

A Nice Getaway

The overall week we stayed here was very nice! The front door was very hard to open when we first got to the house, but we were able to get it open after some wiggling. Everybody walked the large beach at low tide and we got to see a decent amount of sea creatures! Specifically sea stars, sea snails, a sea slug, anemones, and seals! It was sadly cloudy everyday we were there, but we did get to see the mountain views the day before we left which was a nice surprise. We didn't expect the loft to be in the garage and to have a rock wall to climb to get to it, but the two 24 year olds were able to make due. The sliding door was very hard to open for the two 70 year olds, but thankfully they were only at the house alone for 1 of the days so it wasn't a major problem.

Family get away

The area is gorgeous and the house is nice. The loft isnt what i thought it was. Its a rock wall climb up, definitely for kids. I was ready to leave a 5 star review until i saw the owner tried to hit me with damaged items we did not damage. My family and i are not the type to come to a home rental or hotel and trash it. We act as if its our home. Left the place as close to it as we found it. 1st he tried to say we broke his refrigerator. The freezer side worked but the fridge side was slighty cold, yes maybe i should of said something but i figured as a renter he'd know how his home/equipment looked/worked. Then tried to say we damaged his curtains. I dont know how when they were already missing panels and a lot of them were not set the correct way. We did crack the toilet seat but i reached out to him and let him know this. I dont know why id say something about that but not mention doing anything else. I honestly feel like he knew this stuff was like this and used my family as the scapegoat. The garage door was extremely hard to get into and when we left we couldnt get it to lock. Cracked windows, the sliding door was hard to open and close. But with all this we were still very happy. The neighbors were very friendly and even let our kiddos play on their floaty. I was extremely shocked and hurt when i saw the claim put on me, our family had such a wonderful time and even said we'd be back next summer. I dont know why someone who'd trash a home would come back.

Perfect spot on the water

Lovely home in a great location. Everything you could need or want is available for your use. Beds were very comfortable and it was very quiet. Sadly the weather was cool but we used the provided throw blankets and spent a lot of time on the deck listening to the lapping of the waves. This place has the feel of a beloved summer cottage that helps you feel right at home.

Gorgeous view

We brought our 3 grandsons to this lovely secluded home right on the water for 3 day. Lots of things to do both inside and out . The deck is a great place to relax and watch the kids play. All kinds of games and beach toys are readily available along with plenty of towels and blankets. The only drawback was the lack of a screen door to the deck as we had way too many flies in the House. I would recommend this place happily to anyone.

Perfection!

This property is even more beautiful in-person. The beach is pristine and provided endless fun for kids and adults. The owners are quite generous with what they keep stocked and amenities they offer. If you can’t find a way to enjoy yourself here, there’s no hope for you.

Lovely, but not really a 3 bedroom.

Let me start by saying that the record breaking heat was not the fault of the property owner. The small window size air conditioner was no match for near 100 degree weather. The third loft bedroom was in the garage and accessible by a rock climbing set up. Our group of 3 consisted of 2 60+ and our 92 year old mother. We made do with the 2 bedrooms and the couch. On the positive side the house was perfectly situated on the sound, and the views were fantastic.

Amazing place

I had a hard time when trying to find a place since I hadn’t been to the area before and I am so glad I chose this house. I flew out from Indiana with my daughter and her kids to meet my daughter in law and my other grandkids who live NE Washington. The house had plenty of room for all of us and plenty of things to keep everyone busy. We walked the beach every morning and evening. The kids played right in front of the deck. The scenery from the deck was amazing. The views did not disappoint. The neighbors were so kind and friendly. I loved washing dishes with the breeze coming in the windows and seeing the view. The hosts were responsive and had the house stocked with everything we needed. It was so nice not dragging dirty laundry home! I will definitely look forward to staying here again in the future!

A beautiful location - an ideal getaway home

We travelled from Ireland to see the Pacific Northwest and chose this property for the views - seeing the snow-capped mountains from the deck was breathtaking. In hindsight, a little out of the way for what we wanted to do, but that is not an adverse comment about the property. It was clean, comfortable & a real home from home. Would have liked to have wardrobe hanging space and an iron & ironing board, but that might just be us. David was great - whatever we needed prior to travel was quickly accommodated, notwithstanding our 8 hour time difference.

Gorgeous deck and beach

We loved this space inside and out with our young kids (4,1,1). What a treat to have a fun beach, tide pools and great toys. Campfire was quite the treat for adults in the evening!

Lovely bay view and sand beach.

Two weeks at this nice property. Even with the rain we had it was snug. Enough beautiful days to feel how lovely this area is. Close enough to Key Center for groceries, hreat Mexican restaurant in Home, nice beach state park at Joemma park. Very nice stay.

Sunset Retreat

What a wonderful getaway home! Everything we needed for a long weekend was at our disposal. The kitchen was well-appointed, including all of the basics (spices, seasonings, evoo, etc)...this has seldom been our experience at previous rentals. The bathroom was equally well-stocked with full-size products and linens. As lovely as the home was, it was secondary to the amazing beach, view and glorious sunsets. I could have been content to just live on the deck! Our host was as wonderful as his property. Upon our return home, my daughter discovered she had left her phone. After trading messages with David, he was not only able to find it under the sofa where it had accidentally fallen, but got it up to his home, which is only about 5 miles from where she lives. Thank you, David (and family) for sharing your charming beach cottage with us!

The Beach

Beautiful setting on the water low bank with a sandy beach. We had a light show the first night. Watching lightening on the water was a new experience. Great walks on the beach and kids spend their day in the sand and water. Everyone loved it.
