We love our house and it shows. Live the lake life.

Welcome to our Lake House ! Our Lakehouse is a private lakefront home with our own dock a walk out beach area and large yard and ample room for 6 guest to RELAX and a parking area with ample room for cars & a trailer! We love our LAKEFRONT House and the location is fantastic! This is a 3-bedroom 2 full bath house that is situated right on the water, with our own dock. The master bedroom features a 14.5 " memory foam Queen-sized bed with non stop wonderful lake views. The 2nd bedroom is appointed with a full-sized bed. The 3rd has a queen sized bed. The main living space is open and spacious with wonderful views of the lake, with a wall of windows looking towards the lake and a 65" HD TV with many streaming channels to stream your shows and providers. The kitchen is new, with plenty of countertop space and some island seating for 4, there is a dining room table inside for group dining or board games. We have a large seating area indoors for movie watching or simply hanging out…although you'll probably spend more time outside! There is a large deck with a gas grill and plenty of greenspace on the lawn for games or simply playing! The outdoor furniture includes a 2-person hammock and outdoor dining set for al fresco dining and a picnic table in the backyard. While enjoying the large yard, don’t forget to bring some wood with you for campfires and make yourself comfortable on the Adirondack chairs that surround our fire ring situated lakeside. There are 2 kayas and bikes for your use. There is ample seating at the picnic table on the dock for enjoying coffee @sunrise or ice cream while watching sunsets. Enjoy a simple walk across the street for an ice cream cone! Yes! You are that close to the perfect summer! Sherman’s bay is close to most of Chautauqua's main attractions, such as the Chautauqua Institute, which is just about a 20-minute drive by car. We are only minutes from the cute towns of Lakewood, Jamestown and Mayville which has anything you would need. A 15-minute drive (20-minute boat ride) to Bemus Point. You are welcome to tie your boat off on our own secure boat cage on our OWN private dock during your stay (June - mid October) The water depth is at approx. 3 ft deep around our dock, so docking your boat should not be a problem. Don’t have your own boat? Not to worry! There are many boat rental options right down the bay. There is little you will be missing during your stay! Enjoy a quiet vacation in a clean, updated lakefront cottage with all the modern amenities! Come and enjoy a relaxing stay on Chautauqua Lake! Our lakehouse has so much to offer. Come for a romantic getaway, family vacation, friends trip, fishing trip or skiing. Ample Parking available for 3-4 cars, 1 trailer for guest only. Boat docking for 1 boat. All accomodations and ammenities are for registered guests. No gatherings, events or parties. Security cameras monitor paved parking,home, and boat docking areas for our safety and our properties security.This cottage is rented weekly during season Memorial day thru Labor day with Saturday check in & check out. CHQ Family getaway

Enjoyed our stay very much. House worked well for our extended family of 7. Covered deck was a hit when the weather changed. Frequent visits to Bemus and walks to the ice cream shack made the week complete.

Excellent as Always!

We just feel so at home at this property! We enjoyed all of the upgrades! It was particularly nice to be greeted by you and your husband! Bringing our daughter and son-in-law’s boat proved to be even more fun, and it was well protected during a couple of the thunderstorms we encountered.

House and Property had everything we needed for a great vacation . Docked a 23 ft pontoon boat.

House and property had everything we needed for a great vacation. House decorations added to the great atmosphere of being right on the lake. Dock worked well for docking a 23 ft pontoon boat .... and we all enjoyed being close to the ice cream place.. House and everything was clean and organized.

Lovely Lake House

This home was in a great location. The house was spotless and decorated so nicely with lake themes throughout the home. The ice cream store across the street was a bonus, and my weight gain tells it all. We enjoyed using the kayaks and our son walked daily to Lakewood for a cup of coffee. The kitchen had everything needed to make family meals. It was a very nice vacation and we always enjoy coming back to the Lake.

Blue Heron is Family Friendly Fabulous

We felt like special guests at this beautiful VRBO. We Immediately felt the hospitality provided by our hosts. Loved the decor including the special touches of clever nautical accents, beautiful candles, and nice soaps and towels in the baths. The living room showcased a beautiful view of Chautauqua Lake. We enjoyed the kayaks and the fire pit so much. The streaming capabilities were very welcome to cap off our busy days. Very nice accommodations. Pristine property. Close to Wegmans and many other retailers. Plus many more amenities! We can’t thank you enough for sharing your home with us!

Awful experience.! Evicted after fixing innocent mistake !

We booked and paid one yr in advance. We chose the property because it was close to friends. We had friends over when we checked in prior to going out to dinner by boat. This is strictly forbidden! . I was expected to know this based upon fine print from one yr prior even though I had never run into this issue on prior rentals. I was told to comply and I did. After dinner friends returned by boat and gathered their stuff and left. My wife and I went to bed. I woke to a message from the night before kicking me out. I explained it was only my wife and I there. Others were not there and we are complying. She accepted this and said don’t break my rules again or disrespect my property An hour or so later , she sent me two separate pics of myself from her ring doorbell. I had two different outfits on and she said that was proof that I had other guests there. I called her to explain and she refused to believe me and she evicted me She also refused to give me a refund. I lost my money and my vacation. She is not fair and Vrbo so far hasn’t helped me out at all.

Beautiful home

The house is very clean, nicely decorated, beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed. My only suggestion is an additional comfortable chair in the great room. We had a lot of rain, so watched TV more than we would have normally, there were 6 of us so someone had to sit on a dining chair.

Another great stay, as always

This is our second stay at this location (and 4th or 5th on Chautauqua). Our kids demanded that we come back to the same house for its great dock, proximity to ice cream, and overall relaxing vibe. We had an excellent time and can't wait to do it again.

Great place for a relaxing getaway

Beautiful views from the master bedroom and the living room. The weekend we stayed was a rainy fall weekend. and we loved playing cards, drinking coffee, enjoying the views with our college age daughter and new born.

Great house, great host, great everything. First off I have to say that it was a very special stay this time. We have been coming to the lake for 30 years and this year was something different as we lost MOM recently. The lake was her favorite place to be with her family and Elizabeth couldn’t have been a better host for this. Everything is provided. Kitchen stuff that you wouldn’t even think of, outside chairs, kayaks, bikes, etc. is all there. The dock is beautiful and the deck addition is perfect. I am glad we were able to dedicate her life this week at a house like this. You won’t be sorry with this property. Cheers!

Perfect getaway!

Elizabeth’s rental was absolutely perfect! CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, AND THOUGHTFUL!! The location is amazing and she has stocked the home with everything you need! From extra blankets and pillows, to board games and cleaning supplies. She had it all!! We were a family of five and we will certainly be returning! 4 minutes from Southern Tier Brewery and distillery and 6 minutes to The Chautauqua Institute! And that lake view… we loved every minute of it!! Thank you for a relaxing fall weekend getaway!! It was just what we all needed!

Perfect relaxing getaway!

This home is absolutely perfect with so many personal touches and gorgeous decor! Many vacation rentals leave you scrambling to the store for necessities but not this beautiful home. There was dish soap, k cups, spices, cooking oil, plenty of high quality towels, etc. The view from the family room is so lovely. We had a wonderful stay and definitely plan to stay again!

Beautiful property

We have stayed ay many VRBO homes across the nation and by far, this one is among the best. Communications with the host were outstanding. The home was so nicely appointed with very nice furniture, lovely accent touches, and color schemes. And importantly, is was so clean. All of these gave us the feeling of being at home and comfortable. And reciprocally, we wanted to make sure we left the home exactly like we found it, and ultimately take good care of everything in it during our stay. The views of the Lake are so beautiful. Even though the weather was crummy and we could not take advantage of the amenities (kayaks, bikes, a covered deck, outdoor tables and chairs, firepit), we still enjoyed every minute. We would highly recommend the Blue Heron Cottage!

Wonderful home with fantastic lake side views

We enjoyed our stay and amenities. We explored the area. We visited several local museums, hiked trails and climbed rocks, golfed, explored Presque Isle , tried out the SkyCoaster in Ellicottville , kayaked, read books and rested. Great location for a launch pad into Western NY and North PA. Lovely rental opportunity.

Wonderful Lakehouse Vacation

This is the second year we have enjoyed a vacation at the Blue Heron Lakehouse. We really enjoy everything about it. Clean, delightfully decorated, so many amenities, right on the lake with 2 kayaks included (bikes also although we didn't use). Such a restful place to enjoy Chautauqua Lake.
