My host family took me to Lake Takerkoust (its dam powers all of Amizmiz and Marrakech) for a hike. Up here, you can see the entire floodplain and the river tributary that flows into the main lake. Far away on the other side, you can see a motorbike riding across the dirt road as if a speck of dust was slowly floating across space. As we sat and ate our picnic of fruit and veggy sticks, I couldn't help but wonder how much more Morocco is than just its stereotypical perception, a desert.

"The Riad was perfect for us. Very cosy and colourful and we loved having breakfast on the roof top. Location perfect, central but quiet and safe. Staff lovely but an extra special mention for Moulay who greeted us at the airport, guided us for 2 days of our stay and organised our departure. "We spent a week (two families). It was out base for local day trips to various attractions. Villa has everything you need for a relaxing stay - pool, huge garden space, large bedrooms plus the staff there is very professional and helpful. Food cooked by the chef was fantastic as well as the overall service. The only weakness is the location - the villa is situated a bit far from the city centre - you need to book a taxi or have a rented car to go to the centre of Marrakesh or other attractions...

"Riad was gorgeous, well maintained inside with plenty of room for a large family or group. Bedding was good, air conditioning worked, kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils. Could use a few sharp knives. We had first rate service, owner provided pick up from the airport and we paid to have a meal cooked in the home on day of arrival which was lovely. "A fantastic experience, the staff at the riad were so helpful, always suggesting activities or bringing us tea and biscuits when we asked. We are in the Riad a few times and the food was always excellent. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were kept clean and tidy. It was a great place for all of us to stay and it was nice we had the whole place to ourselves. Thank you Riad Beldi, it was a great holiday."

"This is a beautiful property in the heart of Marrakech. It is very charming and the staff were extremely kind and helpful with everything we needed. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious. The property is 20 minutes or less walk from ever thing worth seeing in the Marrakech which made it very convenient to sightsee. The only negative is that the entrance is on a street that is not very accessible by vehicle. A taxi can make it to the front but it is not recommended. This was a minor annoyance as we had to set meeting locations with tour vans and taxis a few minutes from the hotel. Absolutely not a big issue for the many benefits of the staff and locations. "

Nice place to stay

"One night at the hotel. Welcome drink, food and explanations are amazing. The area around La Mellah is also pretty convenient and calm compared to the rest of the Medina. Of course the ground floor’s rooms might be a bit noisier due to the patio and restaurant set-up but this was not really an issue and we would necessarely recommend the ryad for all the services they offer."
