1. Hotel Cueva del Fraile

Hotel Cueva del Fraile
3.0 star property
Cuenca
8.2 out of 10, Very good, (240 reviews)
"The property was tranquil and located within easy driving distance of the historic Cuenca district. The room was rather stark with a television that glitched quite a bit but we were not into the room that much. Despite the uninspiring interior decor of the room, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. If you’re not looking for anything fancy or somewhat luxurious, this would be a good place to stay."

Beautiful old buildings and grounds. Our shower ran cold to cool and was confusing to control, but it was hot and we didn’t ask about it so can’t complain too much there. Parador de Cuenca

Parador de Cuenca

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at the Parador in Cuenca partway through our trip to Madrid. It was fantastic. The property is beautiful and close to many hiking trails in the countryside. The breakfast was five stars and the room was very comfortable, with views of the old city. The only note: Due to the older building and materials (tile, wood, no carpet) you could hear people moving about the hall. But it was very quiet at night and there was an interior door to the bedroom that would have kept any sound down, too!"
