"Islington is not the most impressively clean city I've been in, but it was certainly convenient to West Stow Iron Age Village and Sutton Hoo (and no doubt many other spots in the area). The biggest problem was checking in. Although the proprietor was eventually able to contact me through WhatsApp (which I only coincidentally had installed on a phone) I was afraid that we wouldn't be able to check in when my repeated attempts (including International Long Distance telephone call) to contact them...

"Lovely friendly hotel with a homely feel. Staff always make you feel welcome and give you the best service. The reason I stopped staying in large branded hotels as they can’t hold a candle to local coaching inns and pub restaurants. "

The room was a let down, it was damp on entering, plenty of dust eveywhere, the noise and vibration from the road quite bad and noise from room floor above."

"Super convenient with self check in which is great when arriving late. Radiator was on full so room was super hot but it cooled quickly with the window open and radiator off. Unfortunately this let a lot of marijuana smoke into the room from somewhere. Shower was surprisingly good Reasonably convenient for the train station. "

"Great hospitality from the staff. Breakfast was good but a little overpriced for a basic continental spread. I would have expected the continental breakfast to be included with the room rate. Dinner in the restaurant was fabulous! I would love to dine there again. When I got my final bill for my stay (room and breakfast) I was asked if I wanted to add further gratuity to it which was a little surprising and made me feel a bit awkward. We could walk everywhere! Managed to have lunch at Chilli & Chives, Memsab, the Angel and drinks at the Greyhound."
