"The good points were the daily cleaning and bed-making service was good and I liked the cube storage. Also, reception gave us good recommendations for excellent French food. However, the first room we were assigned had not been cleaned and we found glass on the floor of the second room. The bathroom 'tiles' needed cleaning of the pretend grouting. We could not get an evening meal in the restaurant as it was only for a pre-booked group. There was no bottled water or kettle in the room. The mattresses are foam and killed my back. My first experience of an Ibis and not one I wish to repeat - I hate to think what the Budget Ibis is like."

"The rooms on the 1st floor were nice, better than other floors, and the breakfast was also good. Location good, with a municipal carpark opposite. However, the hotel room doors (heavy firedoors, of course) do not have silent closing on them, and the noise when everyone was going to bed, and getting up in the morning, was terrible! Impossible to sleep. Then in the morning they had no hot water anywhere in the hotel. We complained from 7.45am onwards, they gave us keys to other rooms, but nothing. By 9.30 it still wasn't fixed, and we had to be on our way. A real pity. "

"We really enjoyed our 2weeks here. The morning sunrises were amazing! Loved having the space to spread out, it is quite a hill to walk up on the way back from town but we got used to it and helped our fitness! The town has so much to see and again we loved being able to see the 3 major icons from our house. Just be aware it has stairs(15 steps to first level and 15 to top level, very squeaky too ha! ) was fine for us but incase u r older or impaired could be an issue."

"We loved the gite, it was clean, everything was well catered for and it had a great setting. Michel and Martine were great hosts and left us to enjoy our holiday but were around if we needed them. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and would recommend to friends to stay there and we would gladly go back. The rugby matches we saw in St Etienne were great, fantastic atmosphere and great to watch with people from so many different countries attending."
