Frio Hills Hideaway sits on 50 private acres among the hills outside Leakey, a short drive from town and the Frio River. Ranch Roads 335, 336 and 337, the Twisted Sisters, are close by, and the approach roads are scenic in their own right.



Inside, rich wood finishes and soaring ceilings frame an open living area with a smart TV. The kitchen is fully equipped, with room for the group to cook together. Two bedrooms and a loft sleep eight, with two full bathrooms, one with a tub. Every bedroom has a Roku TV, and there is Wi-Fi and a stacked washer and dryer.



Outside, the large hot tub looks out over the mountains. Covered patios front and back, a charcoal grill and a fire pit are there for the evenings, and the dark skies make for good stargazing. A private seasonal creek is directly across the street, a nice spot when it is running, and there is land to hike and wildlife to watch.

WHY WE LIKE IT

We usually suggest Frio Hills for riders. It sits outside Leakey with quick access to Ranch Roads 335, 336 and 337, the Twisted Sisters. When the riding is done, there is a hot tub with mountain views and a private seasonal creek directly across the street. The soaring ceilings and wood finishes make it a good place to come back to.

GOOD TO KNOW

One of the sleeping areas is an open loft rather than a closed bedroom.

Bring your own firewood for the fire pit.

Creek levels depend on rainfall.

The main renter must be 25 or older.

No discharging of firearms, and no fireworks or ATVs.

Pets are welcome; any pet fee is shown when you book.

Check-in is 3 PM and check-out is 11 AM.
