"It was SO hot when we were in the Netherlands, so our large, cool room with a nice big bathroom was just what we needed after driving up from Amsterdam! The staff were lovely and very helpful. It was also great to be able to go downstairs and have such a delicious dinner. The breakfast was pretty good also. "Though this isn't a 5-star luxury hotel, it was clear to us there are people behind Hotel Leonardo who really put the effort in with the hotel. First, the location is great, just across from the lovely main Leeuwarden train station and a moment away from the Love Fountain, with its ethereal beauty. From what I understand it is one of the 11 Fountains Project. Best to ask ahead where to find the parking entrance. Once you find this, it's great the hotel has very convenient and secure underground...

"The room was nice and clean, the only downsides were how many random sets of stairs you have to drag your luggage up and down to get to the correct elevator if your room is in the other building. The two person bed room is really great if you want to sleep next to your partner without snuggling, as if they try they’ll get swallowed up by the beds separating, haha."
