Singularly the best hotel in Ladakh - and I mean Ladakh and not solely Leh.
Fittings are lovely, staff brilliant, rooms delightful and location pretty good. Food is okay (waiters are a tad over-attentive) but the coffee shop is great and afternoon tea a very nice treat.
Okay, not the cheapest by any means, but spend the money and stay here. It's worth it, esp when compared to any other hotel in Leh.
The Grand Dragon Ladakh offers a memorable stay with its stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploration. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the on-site restaurant serves delicious local and international cuisine. A perfect base for exploring Ladakh’s beauty. Highly recommended!
I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Dragon. The rooms are very nice, the hotel has very nice sitting areas, a great spa, and it is well located. I think what makes this hotel is the service from the staff. Whether it was dining (in room and in the restaurants), assistance with planning excursions, or essential functions like check in, the staff truly makes you feel like a valuable guest. I would highly recommend staying here during a trip to Leh
Property is in great condition. The service at the hotel is top notch with the staff dedicated to taking care of you. The food at the restaurant is very tasty and made from fresh and good quality ingredients.
The property is located 1km from the main Leh Market and it's an easy 15 minute uphill walk to the market. The property is also only 10 mins from the airport.
The property also has great view of the hills.
The Grand Dragon Hotel is great. The staff are great, the food is great, and the rooms are great. On our return of the hotel after a few days in the Nubra Valley, we were given our old room, which was perfect. The war began the night prior to our planned departure for Delhi, and all flights were (and are) cancelled indefinitely. The owner of The Grand Dragon has graciously provided FREE accommodation and FREE dining until such time as we are able to get transportation from Leh! What could be better than that?!!
Wonderful views. Very calming to see the mountains while laid low by altitude sickness. Outdoor patio lovely. Luxurious decor, courteous staff. Lunch and dinner was average. Breakfast was the best meal!
Great location with mountain views and I felt that the staff really cared about your comfort. It was easy to organise taxis for local and other trips around Ladakh. Restaurant was good, I used a la Carte, but, there was usually buffet if you could eat a lot!!. One of the best holidays I've had. I will go back in a shot!

We had an amazing stay at the Grand Dragon. Check in and check out were seamless, we enjoyed the kahwa welcome tea. The room was nice and comfortable. The breakfast restaurant had lots of Indian and Western food options. The staff were friendly and professional. I need to give a special shout out to Gagan who waited on us for breakfast and dinner. I was sick with food poisoning and altitude sickness, he noticed I was skipping meals so he would deliver lemon, honey, ginger tea to my room as well as fruits for me to eat. That kind of service was so special and really helped my recovery. Overall we had a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend them to any traveller in Leh.
With raising political tensions and the inability to travel to this region the hotel refused a refund for extenuating circumstances. Very inconsiderate and lied about their ability to process a refund after Expedia shared with me it is at the property’s discretion. Would not recommend.
Problems at check in . Premier Heritage is anything but Premierand misleading as though the hotel was trying to deceive you. Shd be categorized as Low, Medium, High so you know. Insistence paid off with an upgrade at the end. That improved my stay
