The staff was awesome two things i recommend they should offer golf cart ride to the spa which is 300 meters a way from the hotel after a relaxing treatment no one wants to walk up a hill in the hot sun back to the hotel and the outside of the spa needs to be landscape to a more zen setting it looks like an abandoned fishing cabin

Very smart hotel, excellent staff, good restaurant and breakfast. Rooms well equipped and big. Hotel should have more facilities such as own spa and gym. Plenty of parking including covered parking. Lots to do in the area. Would stay again

Great family friendly hotel!

Beautiful hotel and very family friendly. Lots to do for kids!!! They played tennis, pet the animals at the little farm, and swam at the nice size swimming pool. There was even mini golf but we didn’t have time for it before it got dark as we arrived late. Us parents relaxed and had wine while kids played. Staff was amazing and friendly!

It was comfortable and breakfast really good options. Property was nice to walk around, small animals for kids to visit, tennis courts and biking activities fun. They should really regrout the bathroom shower, the silicon was full of black mold which was very unpleasantly

Property was excellent , some item are describe in the web that are not functionals, but others that that is very relaxing , my kids have a blast , my kids have their own room and I was relaxing knowing that they are inside , not good for people who’s looking for everything in the hotel , we went to the beach around 10min and we have a blast day , I personally recommended restaurant call QUEBRA MAR, you won’t be disappoint , first time I drink a frozen beer at the beach

The hotel was comfortable, the restaurant was good, the staff were friendly and the communication in both English and Portuguese was excellent. However, there were some operational details that hampered the quality of the experience: - There was no clean-up of the outdoor public areas of the hotel following the morning after use. Clearly, there had been people late-night drinking, yet at 8:30am there was still cups, glasses, bottles etc. left outside at both the hotel entrance and back garden facing the pool. This gave a really poor and understaffed look to the hotel. - Despite being named a 'palace', the hotel staff had little knowledge or history of the building. There was no special story behind the hotel, no photos, and evidently no staff training on why the hotel experience was unique. - We were surprised to learn on arrival that the thermal baths no longer functioned. Evidently, there was a breach and the thermal water got mixed with ground water a few years ago, and they closed the facilities. Therefore, the only offering they had was the spa facilities, which itself was OK, but was just a conventional spa and not the 'core' attraction. Whilst the stay itself was very pleasant and comfortable, the shortcomings of these points make the difference on whether we would repeat the stay.

Very nice hotel in a large nature park. Staff was extremely nice and friendly. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. We loved it so much we're planning to go back with the family, they have bikes to rent, a large pool and thermal pools and spa.

I have a superb experience staying there: the food is great, the hotel is nice and the staff there are very friendly and helpful. Special thanks goes to the two staff at the concierge, Claudia and Liliana, they are super nice and always willing to help. I will definitely choose Monte Real hotel again when I visit Leiria again.

Beyond Expectations

The Reception made our Check-in process a breeze and allowed us to occupy our room right away before the stated time. Room 230 is spacious, away from elevators and faces the forest side of the property, with a terrace. It was very clean, but a bit too dark. Linens, towels, mattress, and pillows are good quality. But, to my surprise, one towel was really thin and had six holes in it. The service at this hotel was above and beyond our expectations. For lunch, having the restaurant arranged for an event, a table was set up in minutes at the lobby, facing the pool for us. The food, presentation and service were the best we have had in a long time. The included buffet breakfast offers items for all tastes and/or diets. Dinner was a great experience as well and prices are more than reasonable for the quality and the service. The only critic is that they offer the same menu for both lunch and dinner. With a two night stay, we had the chance to try dishes we did not have for lunch. The Spa offers many types of services and treatments. Unfortunately, our short stay allowed us for just a small sample. The Spa space is beautiful, and the therapists were very good. As hotel guest you can get a discounted price. Parking is free for guests. We recommend this property and would love to go back for a longer stay Spa Vacation.
