Robbed in hotel

We arrived around 5:30 pm to be met by a very nervous receptionist who couldn't speak English; her husband was sitting nearby. We discovered we were the only guests in the hotel. After a 10 hour drive I lay down for a nap, my companion went for a walk around the small town. At some point in the next hour, someone entered my room and stole my computer bag including not only my computer, but some cash, and my passport and other necessary documents. The receptionist did not want to call the police, but we insisted. They arrived, were quite good, but we didn't get to bed until 4 am, which is when we finally left the police station. We agreed to let the whole matter drop if everything would just be returned - no questions asked, but no luck. The receptionist was the only person who knew of our presence in the hotel, and she had seen my computer bag when I registered. This event required the loss of a travel day as I had to drive 400 km back to Bratislava to obtain a new emergency passport. Needless to say, I did not pay for the room, despite a small apology from the hotel administrator.

stella hotel levoca

Levoca is a beautiful town and the Stela Hotel is one of the beautiful buildings on the square. The staff went out of there way to help although one did not understand English as well as the other. Still no complaints. Internet does not work well in the back rooms. The breakfast is good but not great. Overal it is a good value

A historical hotel with it's charm

Right across from the cathedral of this beautiful little town, hotel Stela is a historical building of its own with super high ceiling and a gorgeous courtyard restaurant. The facility looks a bit dated and no air conditioning (due to regulation) but it does have its unique charm. The staff speaks some English but they do try to help. Breakfast is not included in the rate but offered with a very reasonable price. With very formal service and omelette by request. I came down a little late but the table was set up ready for me already when I arrived, very thoughtful. There are not that many options for the hotels in Levoca because it's so tiny, Stela is no doubt decent.

Large well furnished room right on square

Very good hotel and good value. Excellent breakfast if you can eat it all! Convenient for all the sights and the tourist office is 50 metres away. Food looked good but we ate at the Arkada which was good. Friendly staff. Comfortable stay.

Beste Lage

Das Hotel befindet sich im Zentrum der Altstadt, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß leicht erreichbar. Es verfügt über keine Parkplätze, sodass am Markt oder in den Nebenstraßen abgeparkt werden muss, kostet allerdings nur € 2 am Tag. Ab 17:00 werden normalerweise Parkplätze vor dem Hotel frei, dann bis 9:00 morgens kostenfrei. Es ist ein historisches Gebäude, hohe Räume und z.t. winkelige Gänge. Die Zimmer sind sehr groß, gewölbige Decken, alles sehr stilvoll und liebevoll gepflegt. Alle Einrichtungen modern und in gutem Zustand. Es gibt einen Atrium-Lichthof, im dem bei gutem Wetter Essen und Getränke serviert werden. Das Personal in Rezeption und Bar spricht gut deutsch. Das Restaurant ist in historisch-ambienten Räumen gelegen, die Auswahl ein Speisen ist eher bescheiden, Qualität und Geschmack der Speisen aber überdurchschnittlich. Alles in allem: ein Hotel für einen ruhigen, stlvollen und genussreichen Aufenthalt in Levoca. In diesem Sinne ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut.
