Had a lovely time. Cottage clean and well equiped for a home from home stay. Took elderly parents, so the downstairs bedroom and bathroom were ideal. Enclosed garden was great for the dog too. The area was stunning and loved watching the paragliders on the downs. Only lost 1 star, due to the road noise, which we soon got used to. Not the fault of the owners and otherwise a 5 star holiday.
Cosy well equipped cottage but cutlery and crockery had been left dirty and ‘sticky’ handles, stained mugs etc. Shower room could do with some modernising - tired, black mould on screens etc. Would have been more appropriate to have left a spare toilet roll, kitchen roll and maybe a dishwasher tablet or two for guests - may prevent guests having to re-wash items before eating and drinking! Comfortable beds and great location. Car parking tricky up against hedges as tree surgeons seemed to park lots of vehicles at the weekend.
We stayed over Christmas, the cottage was perfect for what we wanted we were out visiting mainly, there was easy access to where we wanted to go being near the A26 and A27 this also meant the cottage was very noisy because of traffic on these busy roads. They had gone to the trouble of decorating for Christmas, the shower room was very clean with nice towels, There was quite a draft under the door to where we were sitting, we could hear a lot of noise from next door including their tv We also felt electricity for heating should have been included in the price, we were barely there but were required to leave 30 for heating. I also felt telling people to leave the place at least as clean as they found it odd and a bit rude, if i made a terrible mess i would expect to clean up but every day cleaning i do not expect to have to do. There we a few cobwebs around but apart from that it was quite clean.

Location a little tricky to find. Lorries and heavy traffic running virtually along back fence. Outdoor space unkempt; just beaten mud and small patches of weeds.Windows dirty inside and out.Dirt and thick cobwebs on ceiling fan etc.'Bodily' aroma in double bedroom downstairs. Had to contact owner to find out why no hot water. They had switched off the emersion heater. Had to ask for a second toilet roll. Towel rail not working; they did arrange for an electrician to come AFTER our stay. Big torch (needed) had no batteries in.Bin in kitchen was large plastic 'dustbin' with no lid. No dishwater tablet or laundry powder so could use neither. Tear in net curtain at front window. Rather stroppy cleaner parked right outside our place so couldn't get our car near to load. She arrived about 20 to 10. We started loading at 10 but she was sharp with us because she had other places to go. Obviously too many because she was doing the minimum. Not a cosy place. Much smaller than it looks. Sorry but we had stayed in two beautiful places during the preceding two weeks. We stayed for our booked 3 days but were very pleased to leave. No actual village there. Gave a sour note to the last days of our holiday. Would not recommend

We had a lovely week visiting family in East Sussex, so this was ideally located.
We had a lovely week visiting family in East Sussex, so this was ideally located. When we arrived the cottage was very cold and took a while to heat up, we could have done with another blanket for the bed as it was January. We had to keep the heating on all the time, but as there is an extra £30 winter fuel payment we didn't feel too bad about doing this.
The cottage was very clean and the welcome hamper was a nice touch which was much appreciated. The garden was securely enclosed, so we could let our dog out without worrying about him getting out, which was very important given the proximity of the busy A roads.
There are some delightful walks along the river nearby. The view of the church from the cottage is amazing.
The wifi connection was good and the bed was very comfortable.
