Gorgeous views. Friendly owners. Fabulous farm animals. Great experience for our 17-71 years old age span and perfect for those with young kids as well.
We had a too short delightful time in Lexington.
The property was on a hill over looking the Shenandoah Valley; every effort was made to welcome us; there’s a small enclave of chickens, turkeys, miniature donkeys, and other creatures the children loved; the surrounding Maurrey River valley was fun to explore and enjoy-we loved it!
Erin is so hospitable and a great host. The property is gorgeous….we wished it didn’t rain while we were there, so we could have explored the trails. Everything was just perfect.
We loved the great mountain view! The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfy. The kitchen was well stocked. The host was quick to respond and very helpful. We enjoyed playing pickle ball and exploring the property. It was close to Lexington, but felt very far from everywhere! Calm and relaxing visit!
This place was clean, confortable and perfect for our group, and the owners were incredibly helpful and kind to us - they were even better than the place. Two very minor downsides - it's a bit of a drive into Lexington (about 6 miles, and a slow drive on country roads) where our activities were, and the high windows let in light earlier in the morning than we wanted to wake. But those were minor to us. We'd stay here again, without question.
This is the 5th year I’ve met my son and his family at Doug and Erin’s little bit of heaven on earth. We started with two little boys and there are now 4 who have come to absolutely love “Nannie’s” farm- LOL.
There’s so much to keep all the boys busy( ages 10 - 3) . The house is perfect- everything you could need is there. Erin is so helpful. I 100% encourage making this your destination.!
This was such a beautiful property. Me and my friends were in town for a wedding and we rented this listing for a weekend. It was about 15 min from downtown Lexington which was great. My friends would sit outside in the morning to look out at the view with their coffees plus the fire pit was a lot of fun. There were chickens, donkeys, and cows we looked at and there was a note inside that if we wanted to get up close with the chickens to let them know. Wish we had done that. 10/10 though!
Erin and Doug were the best VBRO hosts I have ever had the pleasure renting from. They were fantastic communicators and very helpful with area information.
We were celebrating our son’s graduation this week . The house was the perfect, picturesque, location for a fun small party bbq. The kitchen had everything we needed and the home was beautiful and spacious. Some basketball, tether-ball, pickleball playing and ending the evening by the fire pit made for happy memories. A few guests even went to visits the cute donkeys. I would highly recommend visiting this VRBO location and enjoys the beautiful location.
My friends and I were in town for a wedding. The house far exceeded our expectations. The property was BEAUTIFUL and peaceful. There was a lot of privacy in addition to a lot of amenities. The cottage has everything we needed and more. The hosts were wonderful and accommodating. There was soft music and the lights were on when we arrived. They also had farm fresh eggs in the fridge and offered to save us a trip to the store. They let us check out two hours late because there was no one else checking in. The beds were comfortable and the view was gorgeous. They have put so much thought into every aspect of the cottage. The pictures do not do it justice! Will definitely be back if we are in the area again!
Stunning property and genuinely lovely hosts. We had three kids, 5 and under, and they had so many toys and things to play with. Everyone loved the swing, which overlooked a gorgeous landscape and provided for great photo ops. The hosts got back to me right away anytime I needed anything. No fussy requirements or lengthy check-out instructions. Just a wonderful stay. Would return.
The location was convenient enough to get to all the fun tubing, brewery and hiking activities...yet it was so perfectly remote where you could really "get away". The hosts were so very gracious and welcoming, making sure that we had all our family needed for the stay.
Beautiful place and perfect for our VMI reunion with some old friends. We also thoroughly enjoyed the "neighbors"--a mama bear and her 3 cubs. Definitely on our list for a place to return....thank you so much!
We had an incredible stay at this lovely cottage! It was extremely family friendly! The hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful! We’re looking forward to going back again and again!

Wonderful quick getaway to be out of the city. Gorgeous Mountain Views and cute farm animals and activities for kids. Lots of nearby outdoor fun as well. Erin and Doug were friendly and attentive hosts. I would recommend staying here!
The owners made us feel at home and very comfortable. It is very hard to travel with young ones, but they made it very easy to keep the kids entertained by providing ride on toys outside, a while toy room inside, and so much more. I would highly recommend for a family with kids, or even just a couples getaway!
The property was beautiful and so peaceful and relaxing. Property managers Erin and Doug were supper accommodating. My family will definitely be booking here again. Thank you!!
