When I set up our vacation the room was supposed to have 2 Queen beds. The beds were not Queen size we were luxky if they were twin size. The internet that was advertised never worked the whole week we were there. There was a hole in the wall behind the headboard with wires showing and wire nuts where they were connected. We had to get clean towels from the front desk and the rooms were not cleaned. After asking they told us we had to request this service.

It is an interesting old hotel with some vibes from The Shining. Nice tavern with decent bourbon selections. The breakfast was meager and ridiculously over-priced. Nothing is complimentary.

We stayed here for 3 days to attend a family reunion in Buchanan, VA. The hotel has so much history and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. We had a wonderful breakfast in the dining room one morning. The hotel is old but everything is in good working order. The only reason I gave a cleanliness score of 4 is I feel the elevator could use a good cleaning and spruce up. We enjoyed Natural Bridge State Park that is just across the street while we were there, also. I highly recommend a stay here.

Quiet area with easy access to the natural bridge ( which is kinda neat but over priced ). A 1/2 hour attraction. The tavern on the main floor is decent and you can eat outside on the patio with your dog. I would stay again when traveling, but mostly because it is a quiet safe area and they take dogs.
