The parking was easy. You just register it in the bar when you check in. It was a simple room. Stairs up to the rooms. We stayed here to go to the airport.

The exterior room was a bit basic with no wardrobe/hanging space , and bathroom area was also tiny. So for room only it was a bit pricey

Fab stay

Great little place, I’ve stayed lots of times, it’s convenient for me visiting my brother who lives round the corner! Clean and great food in the lovely pub. Cracking Sunday roast. X

Great location & very comfortable

The Star Inn is a great place to stay, well priced, convenient for Gatwick, a good base for touring Surrey Sussex & Kent, base yourself here & have days out. Accommodation is simple but comfortable, the rooms have recently been refurbished, lovely cooked breakfast, friendly staff, & even though its a pub its not at all noisy. Will definitely stay again.

Central Lingfield gastro pub with large car park, comfortable accommodation and a decent restaurant. Close to village centre and railway station. Good value. Recommended.

Great location, friendly staff. Ideal for Races

Booked the Star Inn as we were going to Lingfield Races. Friendly Staff welcomed us on arrival and helped us find a table in the evening after the Races. Ideal location - 10 minutes walk from the Racecourse. Great, friendly atmosphere in the bar area. Room and bathroom were comfortable. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again

Good stay, basic but comfortable. Had a room in the outside annex. It was awkward trying to get in and out of the bath to have a shower, there were no grab bars and the top of the bath was quite high.

Great place to stay would use the star inn again.

Really beaitiful country pub with a fantastic selection of drinks. The menu was varied and our meals were very well cooked. The waiter was great and we enjoyed our time in the pub itself. The room we had was a twin, unfortunately there were no double bed rooms left but thats ok. The beds were comfortable and clean. The room was well decorated, clean and we had tea and coffee facilities. A nice clean bathroom. All round good value. We were offered the chance to book breakfast in the morning but declined and regretted that!

We didn't realise it was under the flight path for Gatwick. With out double glazing it was quite noisy. It was a pleasant stay but I expect the windows are drafty in the winter

Good value

We booked as had an early flight from Gatwick. Parking was very limited as we came on the night of a very popular pub quiz. Our room was a great size with a good bathroom. It was quite noisy, but that's to be expected above a busy pub, once the pub was closed it was quiet.

Nice accommodation but alas the bed was too small, I’m 6’4 and with the wooden frame I did not fit also the shower is very small size and does not fit the bigger guy.

Great value budget accommodation

The Star Inn is in a lovely location in an up market location. Lingfield has great facilities and is the perfect base for exploring the many attractions of the area. The rooms in the exterior block to the side of the main building are compact but have everything you need. Decor is simple, clean, modern and crisp. Wi-Fi works well and the rooms have tea/coffee, tv, hair dryer etc and comfotable beds. The Inn itself has good food and a great range of drinks including local ales. The breakfast at £10 is great value. You get cerals, juice, toast and preserves, tea/coffee and a full cooked breakfast. We had the vegetarian breakfast and it was superb. Everything perfectly cooked with great quality ingredients. There is so much to explore and see in this area and we would happily return here as a base. Good value accommodation is hard to find in this part of the country and this place is a gem that combines value with quality and great, friendly service. Highly reccommended.

Stayed for one night after attending a wedding a few miles down the road. A nice little location and a well presented room. Some minor maintenance needed but doesn’t necessarily affect the use of anything e.g. shower head didn’t stay still and some cardboard had been wedged into the holder awaiting replacement. It’s a given that the owners are trying to keep the building as original as possible (which is great), however may need to give the window fittings a little attention as an open gap was seen to be present when windows were closed and on latch. This also lead to outside noise penetrating through to the room, especially people in the pub downstairs and aeroplanes passing. There is an easy entrance/exit for when the pub is closed, however means passing the bin stores and having easier access to gas bottles, etc. could maybe look at sectioning this off a little more where possible. I would look to stay here again, however wouldn’t look to stay for more than one night.

Barely slept due to noisy water pipe by window

We stopped over the night before our flight from Gatwick and unfortunately we did not sleep well in Room 8. When we retired to bed we discovered that right outside our room window was an overflow pipe of some sort which was flooding water from a height of roughly 6 feet onto the roof beneath. The noise from constant splashing prevented us from sleeping for hours and woke us frequently. By this time, staff had left the building so we were left to cope with it. While it was raining some of the night, in the morning we found the rain had stopped yet gallons of water continued to gush continuously from this pipe. Whatever this outlet pipe is for, a proper downpipe desperately needs to be fitted so that the water falls gently onto the roof beneath. It is such a shame because other than that issue the room was a decent size, nicely furnished and decorated, equipped with a good size TV and large bathroom complete with bath. And the pub downstairs was nice with great staff. On arriving at The Star Inn and seeing the pub and room we really felt we had found our “go to” hotel when travelling from Gatwick, but given the lack of sleep, we’re now not so sure. Perhaps if we had some assurances the downpipe had been installed and could sleep.

Outside room was quiet as was away from main pub. But the green beam of light over the door (from the fire detection system? ) lit the room up and made it hard to sleep. Also I'd not given consideration to aeroplanes going overhead all night.

A very nice place to stay. This is not a tourist destination but the nearby area is very nice and worth a walk. There is a very nice pub at the hotel and we eat well. The room was very nice and clean.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay most agreeable. Kachia sorted out our arrival request and the rest of the staff were most attentive, helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay at the Star again!
