Alfama - 2 Level Apartment With A Stunning View

The apartment is in an old building and fully renovated by us. We knocked down many walls to create an open and airy feeling throughout the apartment. The terrace was a key feature for us when we bought the place and we have spent many lovely mornings, lunches and evenings there admiring the views and letting the Lisbon sun in. The roof window on the second floor ads to airiness. We love cooking together, and since there are so many great food products available in Portugal, we created a kitchen that is made for team cookings. Lots of space and a kitchen island makes it a great place to be together. The kitchen is integrated in the living room making that area the natural hub for friends and family. Alfama, the old town with its myriad of alleys and lanes, bars and restaurants are just outside the door. Explore the Castle, the Pantheon and the Monastery by foot and take the chance to buy some antiques at the Feira de Ladra (Lisbon's biggest and best flea market). The metro is only 200 meters away from the apartment and gives you easy access to all Lisbon's attractions and there are buses on the street itself getting you out to Expo is 15 minutes.

Perfect Location for Us

We had a wonderful stay here. It was a great location for us, easy to walk around to all the locations we were interested in seeing. Plus there was on street parking for our rental car. If we return to Lisbon for a second visit/stay we would most definitely see if this place was available again. The hosts were amazing responsive to our questions, we could not be happier with our stay.

Lisbon Apartment

This was a very large, wonderful apartment steps away from all that the old section of Lisbon has to offer! We loved all the amenities that the host provided along with the wonderful rooftop terrace- perfect for evening wine and morning coffee! Should we come to Lisbon again, we would definitely stay at this amazing home!

Wonderful place in Lisbon

The apartment has absolutely everything you need and is in a perfect location for discovering Lisbon by foot. All you need is in walking distance. Highly recommended!

Lovely stay in Alfama

Great location! Lots of things to see and do. Alfama is a busy spot but this home is located in a quiet area. It has easy access to the airport and train station as well. Hosts are attentive and helpful.

Lovely flat, very comfortable great location

Myself and 4 friends had wonderful stay at this flat. The rooftop terrace and views of the cathedral were wonderful. The flat was spacious had everything we needed, lovely out and some nice art, a great shower and a bath and comfortable beds. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Ekaterina

Old town gem

Very spacious, on two levels, with a nice balcony on the upper level. Near the train station and large grocery store. Only downfall are the three flights of tricky stairs and the sloped ceilings in the loft, especially the shower.

Perfect trip to Lisbon

If you are looking for a place to stay in Lisbon, look no further! This property was functional, beautiful, and in a perfect location for exploring the city. You are a 5 min walk from the metro/train, on a block with many restaurants/bars/shops, and the view from the roof is spectacular. We were a group of 5 adults and everyone felt right at home. Keep in mind the property is on the third floor so be prepared for steps. Lisbon itself is hilly so really not the end of the world! Communication with the host was smooth and the property was as described. Would absolutely return here if we came back to Lisbon!!!

Stay in Alfama area of Lisbon

Very well appointed updated property in a very convenient location near Santa Apolonia train station,buses and the National Pantheon. We had a housekeeping deficiency at the check in but the host, Ekterina, was extremely responsive to rectify and offered us a prompt partial refund for inconvenience. We enjoyed a very modern kitchen and well stocked dishes and cutlery. The couches, TV & dining area were very comfortable. We would consider staying there again if ever in Lisbon. Even with 3rd floor location without an elevator.

Lisbon Vacation

We spent 5 days at the apartment in Lisbon. It was a good location not to far walk from the downtown busy core. Lots of little shops and restaurant's once you go down the street. It was very clean and comfortable for the 6 of us. We kept the air conditioner on most of the time we were there becasue there was only one unit on the top hallway. It kept the apartment cool. My husband and I stayes on the top floor which is like a loft. Very cute apartment.

Family Christmas vacation

The apartment was just what we wanted. It was very clean, stocked kitchen. Just perfect. The views were awesome. The host was easy to deal with. She responded right away. I will say after reading the negative review below i was a little nervous but this place is nothing like he described. We never felt unsafe ever! The steps are a little narrow but not dangerous. There are light switches on each floor, so no need to panic if it shuts off. Everything is within walking distance. Such a great apartment in a great location!! You will not be sorry if you plan your next vacation here!!

Fantastic VRBO in outstanding Location

We had our son, daughter-in-law and 2 teenage granddaughters with us. We all enjoyed our stay. The location in Lisbon is LaFama….the oldest district that was not destroyed in the 1755 earthquake. What a great area. There were a huge variety of restaurants within minutes of the front door…small grocery store within 50’. The waterfront was less than a 5 min walk as was the train station to Porto. The business/shopping district was a 2 km walk or a quick Uber drive at very little cost. The 2 story unit was perfect…true to photos. Kitchen was well appointed with great appliances. Host responds quickly to needs by text. We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone we know who visits Lisbon.

Location, location, location!

We are traveling with another couple for our first time in Lisbon.. We couldn't have been more pleased with Sao Vicente! The check in was simple, we found parking right in front of the door. The stairs were a bit hard to climb but once you get into the apartment it is worth it - great open space with lots of light. the kitchen has everything you would need. The three bedrooms, two bathrooms gave us enough privacy. We had so much fun trying the fabulous restaurants around Sao Vicente. The first night we ate in a very typical Portuguese restaurant that was delicious, we ate fantastic Italian and Indian our last night at Zaika - highly recommend. We took a cycle tour with Lisbon cycle tour that was a 6 minute walk that gave us a great overview of the city. You will be a happy traveler if you get to experience Sao Vicente and Lisbon!!

No air condition

The apartment is nice and the area too. But NB: no air condition in the apartment. It was one there, but it did not work. We came during a heat, and it was so warm in the apartment. When telling the owner the answer was to open the window 😏 It was warmer outside then inside and very noisy because of building construction. We were told to buy a fan. It kept the kids asleep for the night but could only be in one room at a time. In retro we should have taken a hotel room with air con, but then we would probably loose our money paid for the apartment. Sorry to say this had a huge impact in our stay in Lisbon.

Wasn't cleaned and had an unsafe staircase!

Horrible experience! The place was not cleaned from the previous guests (at all!), and the staircase up to the unit was pitch black and not safe. The owners did not take responsibility to take care of these issues. We arrived early (12:30) to drop off our bags. First, the staircase lights weren't working. It was total darkness with narrow/steep stairs and very dangerous. When we got up to the unit, the cleaners weren't there and the place hadn't been cleaned. We called the owner to tell him about the staircase lighting and that the place wasn't cleaned yet, and he said he'd call the cleaners. We went off for the afternoon and came back at 5:15 (check in was at 4:00), fully expecting the lighting to be taken care of and the unit to be ready for us. We had been traveling for almost 24 hours and just wanted to go to bed. Nothing had been done! The staircase was still pitch black. In the unit it was used bedsheets, dirty towels on the bathroom floor, pizza boxes and a dirty rag on the counter, etc. We called the owner again and emphasized that we have two young kids who need to sleep. He just said he'd call the cleaners to come. We ended up being there until 9:00 at night, first waiting for the cleaners (never came), then contacting VRBO, then scrambling to find two hotel rooms to accommodate family on short notice. The cleaners never showed up and the owner never once followed up with us, which shows a total lack of responsibility.

Ekaterina has an absolute gem of an apartment in Alfama. The five of us stayed for 5nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everybody had enough space. The little terrace on the top floor is so charming: there’s a view of the Pantheon, neighbouring apartments, the river. Someone playing the saxophone one evening was just a cherry on the top. Walkable distance to restaurants. Great communication with Ekaterina. Definitely recommend for families :) Will return 150%
