About this property

Room in Unique 17th-century Villa in Sintra Historic Center, Snooker, BBQ, Piano

  • Room 2 is a cosy private bedroom in the family villa, with its own entrance from the shared balcony. It is not a large room, but offers a comfortable king-size bed, generous wardrobes, heating, a dehumidifier and a desk with a comfortable chair.

The large attached bathroom is exclusively yours, with historic Portuguese tiles, a bathtub, an overhead rain shower and a seat. Bath towels, hand towels, a hairdryer, shower gel and shampoo are provided.

There is a 65-inch Smart TV with streaming services, a microwave, kettle and coffee machine, plus plates, bowls, glasses, cups and cutlery. Complimentary tea, coffee and sugar are provided.

You are welcome to use the shared villa: snooker table, music room with piano, guitar and violin, library, fireplace lounge, dining room, veranda and patio with stone barbecue. The main kitchen’s hob and oven are available too; please leave the kitchen clean after use. These common areas are shared with the family and other guests.

Stay in Sintra’s historic centre, among old lanes, traditional cafés and green hills. Discover the National Palace of Sintra, Quinta da Regaleira and the town’s distinctive architecture, then return to a welcoming family villa. The surrounding landscape is hilly, with slopes and steps; allow extra time for exploring and wear comfortable shoes.

Explore the historic centre on foot. Trains connect Sintra with Lisbon, and local buses and taxis serve the surrounding area. For attractions farther uphill, including Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle, plan transport and admission in advance. Driving and parking in the old town can be difficult. Read our arrival and parking information before travelling and contact us if you need help planning your arrival.

Velvet Sintra is the family home of Alex and his mum, not a hotel. There is no staffed reception. Self check-in instructions are sent before arrival, and remote support is available 24/7.

Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 12:00 noon. Quiet hours are 23:00–07:00. Please respect other guests, the family’s private rooms and local fire restrictions.

Breakfast is optional at €12.50 per person, served at your chosen time between 07:00 and 11:00. Please order breakfast and food at least 24 hours ahead. Homemade meals, Portuguese drinks and laundry are available separately.

The cleaning fee is €25 per stay. Please tell us if you are bringing pets: the pet fee is €35 total per stay, regardless of the number of pets or nights. Applicable tourist tax is separate. If a fee has already been collected for your reservation, it must not be paid twice.
