"Friendly staff in this hotel, food excellent and varied. Lovely big bedroom, comfy beds with vintage furniture, bathroom could do with a bit of a makeover. Superb view looking over the river with the swans and ducks. No lift in the hotel so I did struggle with the stairs."

"I stayed at the Jester while I was in the area for business. Bas and his chef Derek bent over backwards to accommodate during what was a very difficult time for them at the tail end of the second lockdown. With no other staff to support them, and making preparations for the reopening, they still found time to make sure I had access to evening meals and breakfast, despite the fact they had no reason to open the kitchen, just to serve me. "Property is easily accessed off of the Southbound A1. There is a fuel station next door and an Indian restaurant, although I did not use either. The property was fairly clean with a bar and a continental breakfast. The staff were friendly. The room wasn't in pristine condition but perfectly fine and clean. I'm a big lad and I did find the shower a tad small. I would definitely stay there again. "
