"The front door was locked when we arrived at check in time but it was opened immediately by a woman who we believe is the owner. Check in was very quick. She escorted us through the main lobby and a common room which were beautifully decorated in the Victorian style and she pointed out the then-closed room where the included continental breakfast would be served in the morning. Breakfast opened up at 7:30. As we were booked for the lst ferry to P.E.I. the next day we said we likely would not be able to join them for breakfast. She assured us we'd have plenty of time to get the ferry but new to it, we decided to follow the ferry line's recommendation regarding arrival time.
.
She took us up the stairs to the 2nd floor (there are no elevators) and offered us a choice between 2 very nice rooms.
It was storming outside when we arrived and it had worsened. We had had a late lunch so decided against going out into the storm for dinner. We did go downstairs mid evening to take a longer look around and while there were other cars in the parking lot, there was no one in the common rooms. There was no one at the front desk but there was a telephone there with instructions on how to reach the owner.
Our room was nicely decorated in turquoise and white, with a flat screen TV and a comfortable Queen bed. The hotel was very clean."
