Absolutely love this little gem with its stunning view of the hills! We basically lived in the hot tub and will definitely be back. The small road is a bit scary, but this was the relaxing vacation spot that we needed!
We loved our Deer Run cabin, and so did our pups!! We stayed for a Hocking Hills getaway, to do some hiking on the trails. We definitely loved our stay, and look forward to our next stay, in the future.
This was the perfect place for our short getaway. The property was absolutely gorgeous, close enough to local attractions, yet far enough to enjoy a peaceful vacation. The gas fireplace gave out on us during our stay and the proprty managers were quick to respond. Very nice cabin and perfect location. Exactly as advertised.
Wish we could have stayed more than 1 night! It was surrounded by beautiful landscape from every room. It was close enough to the other cabins that we felt safe and not secluded, but also very private! Very clean and they had everything one would need!
Wonderful place! Be aware this is in the hills. Driveways are steep but, they weren't a problem for our truck. We didn't have access to a "pool" but the hot tube was wonderful! Very privet and inviting. We came for our wedding anniversary and loved it. We will be back!
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect for us. There are several cabins nearby but far enough away and hidden by trees to make it seem like you are all alone on the hilltop. So quiet and peaceful.
It's the little details that made this such a memorable stay. Upon arrival we found the cabin in a small clearing with a spectacular view. The exterior is well maintained and landscaped. The addition of several small ornamental trees give the impression that you are at someone's homestead. Inside the cabin was clean, tastefully decorated and had all the essentials we needed. We loved how the cabin was laid out. Very roomy and comfortable. Loved the fireplace and hot tub as well.
It's a seven hour trip for us but we can't wait till the next time.
We were impressed with the Deer Run cabin the moment we pulled up in the driveway. There were several cabins around us but far enough away to enjoy privacy. We brought our two pups with us and they enjoyed having the open space to explore a little. Walking into the Deer Run cabin made us feel right at home. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils to making cooking our meals so easy. There are two bedrooms in the Deer Run Cabin with two bathrooms also. The upstairs shower was not the greatest. Shower head was a little funky. The upstairs bed was definitely firm! The downstairs bed was more on the soft side and the downstairs shower head was better. Both bathrooms had shampoo and body wash right in the showers. Plenty of towels were supplied. We did not use the hot tub but it looked like it was nicely maintained. One night we did have a fire in the firepit and sat under the beautiful star-filled sky. Although we sat by the fire in our camping chairs, there are two benches you can sit on. We also did not use the propane grill but it would have been perfect to cook a couple of steaks or burgers on. The Wifi worked fine during our stay. The tv was nice also. There is also a gas fireplace in the living room but we did not use it during our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our entire experience at Deer Run. We are looking forward to coming back next year:)
Property was great, private and great for our pet. We can wait to come back

We really enjoyed our stay. So peaceful and quiet, we even enjoyed running around the yard naked! My partner and I will be back! Private, sits on the hill with great views and spacious
Overall our stay was wonderful. The property was clean and stocked with things we needed, the view and hot tub were AMAZING and we were located conveniently close to town. We will certainly be staying at this property again!
Terrific after Christmas get away for our small family. This is our 2nd time at Deer Run. We love everything about the property. You feel alone in the woods, at the top of the hill. Walking out back with the dog off lead is my favorite!
The stove needs updated and that is the only issue. It really is a nice cabin.
My husband and I are currently living in different states. It’s been very hard on the start of our marriage and we needed a little get away. We found this place and went for it. It did not disappoint. Everything was clean and so nice. It was relaxing. We saw some deer. We loved being on the top of the hill and felt very secluded. We brought both of our dogs with us and they loved being able to run around outside and play and then come curl up by the fireplace. We hope to come back again to enjoy some more quality time together!
There were a few qwerks about the cabin like one of the buttons didn’t work on the stove and the downstairs bathtub didn’t hold water and the upstairs shower head has no pressure and the mattresses were pretty stiff but other than that me and my kids enjoyed it so much. It was so clean, no bugs, close enough to town to shop at Walmart or eat out about 5 mins away but feels like you have a very private location no noise very quiet and peaceful lots of dear to watch. It really was wonderful!
Pros: Like 12 mins to town if you need a grocery store or any supplies. Very private despite being on top of a hill. Great 4 person hottub with a view, again very private. Great space inside! Living room has a couch, recliner, and sofa chair with ottoman. Loved the gas fireplace, even though it had a 1 hour at a time timer. Smart to have tiles in the entrance to the first floor bathroom for hottub use. Full sized kitchen with mostly all necessary amenities provided. Another baking pan, mixing bowl, and big knife would have been nice. Thank you for having dish soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, hand soap, bodywash, and shampoo. Thank you for providing trash bags and a trash can outside. Ample parking if you wanted to park 4 cars. There was DSL speed Wi-Fi. Not enough for multiple people to stream stuff simultaneously. But plenty for us to stream YouTube and Spotify for music. Take a bluetooth speaker for use in the hottub or around the firepit!
Cons: Beds were stiff. We read this in other reviews and prepared by bringing our own feather pillow topper. The water pressure sucks bad but kind of to be expected. The upstairs shower was worst when it came to water pressure. The tub/shower drain was very slow to drain. The kitchen sink plug got hilariously stuck and getting it unstuck was frustrating. The surface of the range became INSANELY HOT when the oven was in use. The main heat didn't work the first night we were there but they fixed it same-day when we reported it in the morning. Check-in was a little annoying. I drove to the main front desk building but as I was just pulling in the driveway, got a text saying that the cabin was ready. And it's 20 mins from the main check in place. It would have been nice to go directly to the cabin.
Neutral: 20 mins to Old Man's Cave, Lake Logan, or trail hiking. There was a back porch with seating for 3 and an astray. Good for smokers, I'm sure. But there was no light on that porch so we really didn't use it. There was a fire pit with built in seating as well as a grill we didn't use but they seemed like they'd be useful for others. The upstairs "bedroom" is a loft. So could be bad for light sleepers if there with more people. Getting access to the HDMI port on the TV was hard. The phone had a really obnoxious ring.
I definitely recommend it to friends and return with others. Would be perfect for a Romantic Getaway with one couple like we did to celebrate. Or have 2 couples.
