Top Loire Valley Hotel Reviews
Hotel de la Cité
10/10 Excellent
"This is a new hotel and it shows, in all the good ways. Rooms and public spaces are all in excellent condition, design is current and the bar area is very pleasant. Although new it is very clear the staff have been exceedingly well trained, every one was friendly and helpful. It is clear that it is a hotel targeted for business travellers who need somewhere to stay between meetings, meaning the rooms are functional if a little compact. However we stayed as a family visiting Nantes and the location is excellent for that. Minutes walk to the old city with a huge number of restaurants and castle which is certainly worth a visit. I would thoroughly recommend."
OKKO Hotels Nantes Centre Ville

"Nice hotel. Not being able to freely use your keycards to come into the hotel if you got home late was a little weird as the staff had to let you in. Also, I get being eco friendly but not being able to lower the Air Con to anything lower than 24 degrees for your room is annoying especially during major heatwaves. Lastly the club has interesting smell of mold? Might need a carpet change a deep cleaning. But overall the hotel was nice."

Chachacha Hôtel
10/10 Excellent
"Perfect for a Saturday night stop before early Navette bus to the airport as no early trains from Pornic on Sundays. Easy walk into Old town from the hotel through the Chateau. Room small (like in the room we were in, you have to open your suitcase in the room 'hallway' opposite the bathroom). However, rooms are super clean, decent size shower with rainfall and non rainfall head. Shower pressure really good even from the 6th floor! View from room 603 straight out onto Cathedral. Airconditioning in the room, able to turn on/off but the temp is set centrally. Electric blackout blinds in the rooms."

"Not practically situated , have to do a whole detour to get to parts of Nantes. Breakfast is not great and overpriced"
Westotel Le Pouliguen

"We booked this hotel as it was one of only a few that had a pool in the area, with availability for our dates. So glad we did get a hotel with a pool (in fact this one has two) as we used both the pools daily. The hotel is nice and modern, great location only a short walk to the front and all the great restaurants and bars nearby. Rooms were cleaned daily and all the common areas were kept nice and clean too. Room was well air conditioned which was essential for us due to the warm weather. We stayed in a Family Duplex, so there was a large bed and sofa on the ground floor and a sofa bed on the upper floor. Before we booked, I did email the hotel and ask if the sofa bed upstairs was suitable for adults and they said it was - however, I would disagree with this unless you are a very small adult! Plenty of pillows provided, and we had a nice balcony with view of the harbour. If we could comment on just a few things: - Sofa bed on the upper level of the Duplex was quite tired looking and not comfortable. In fact, I don't know why the upper level doesn't have a normal bed, either two singles or a double. It would easily fit on there and as there is already another sofa on the lower level it's really not necessary to be a seating area. - Storage was minimal. Wasn't really enough hanging space or shelves for a family of 4. Could easily add more storage in these rooms. - Breakfast was ok and staff lovely but quite a few flies with doors open and food not covered."
