Richmond is one of London’s most attractive and sought after boroughs and is only 20 mins by train from Central London as well as being on the District Line on the underground.
Despite being so well connected to the city, it has a lovely small town vibe with beautiful riverside walks, green open spaces. cobbled alleyways, cosy pubs, great shopping and dining, and of course the wonderful Richmond Park. It has also found a new claim to fame as the setting of Ted Lasso - in fact, my flat is only 10 minutes walk from Ted’s front door! You might recognise lots of places in the area as the setting for different films and tv shows, it really is a pretty place!
My flat is located on the sought after Richmond Hill on the second floor of a three storey building. All the rooms are bright and airy with lovely big windows, with both bedrooms looking out onto the hill, and the living room benefitting from beautiful district views. There is a balcony off the kitchen which is a lovely spot to sit and watch the sunset.
It is just a short walk to Richmond Terrace which is another great spot for sunset with lovely views over the fields and down to the river, you can take a picnic or some drinks, or pop into the Roebuck pub and get a drink to take down to a bench on the terrace - this spot is also where Joe Wicks did his hill sprints! There are also some lovely walks along the river towards Teddington Lock and past Ham House, over the river to Twickenham and Eel Pie Island (don’t miss Church Street with it’s lovely shops) or towards Kew Gardens and Kew bridge. And it’s always fun to see high tide at the White Cross pub.
There are some fantastic coffee shops nearby and some great places to eat too. Happy to give my recommendations!
