The Space
My wife Marion and I welcome you to step into a world where old meets new. Lioness House spans two floors with the main living areas on the ground floor and bedrooms (and additional bathroom) on the lower-ground floor. The property combines period features like high ceilings and traditional shutters with contemporary touches throughout.
The large living room, adorned with a stunning ceiling rose and chandelier, offers a cozy setting to relax on the boucle cloud sofa or enjoy a movie on the 43 inch flat-screen Samsung TV. With super high-speed Wi-Fi (1000Mbps), staying connected has never been easier. Note: the sofa can transform into double sofa bed. Please let us know in advance if you'd like this to be used. However, please be aware that the living room doesn't have a door, but we can organise for a curtain to be hung to give anyone sleeping in this room some privacy.
For those who love to cook, the kitchen is fully equipped with high-spec Smeg appliances. The space has been designed to make it fun to host dinner parties, and the solid oak dining table has ample space for 6 people (if requested in advance we can arrange for a larger table too). You’ll also find a separate laundry/utility room with a washing machine, drying rack, iron and butler sink, ensuring all the comforts of home are at your fingertips.
Venture downstairs to the lower ground floor, where you’ll find two spacious bedrooms, both with ample built-in storage, ensuring a clutter-free stay. Note: the master bedroom has a kingsize bed, and the guest bedroom has a double bed.
The bathrooms are a haven of relaxation, with one featuring a large bathtub (on the ground floor) and both equipped with modern showers. During the warmer months, the lower ground floor stays cool, while in winter, it remains comfortably warm.
But the true gem of this property is the expansive paved garden. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine on the garden sofas surrounded by greenery, providing a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of London life.
Location
Located in the picturesque Parsons Green area, Lioness House is perfectly positioned for exploring some of London’s most iconic attractions. A short underground journey takes you to Wimbledon for the tennis, the Chelsea Flower Show, and Battersea Park. The District Line also provides easy access to central London, while nearby Imperial Wharf offers Overground connections to Clapham Junction, Westfield, and beyond.
Enjoy the village-like atmosphere of Parsons Green, with its array of parks, cafes, and restaurants right on your doorstep. For brunch there's a wide selection of local favourites such as Halley's and Megans. Or for evening entertainment/dining you might choose to visit the world-famous White Horse (affectionately known as the Sloaney Pony), Duke On The Green and Aragon House. For those who enjoy riverside walks, the Thames is just a short stroll away, and the river boats offer a unique way to travel into central London. Guest Access
Guests will have full access to the entire property during their stay. This includes the spacious split-level ground floor with its living room, large bathroom, kitchen dining room, reading room, and utility room. The lower ground floor houses two bedrooms and an additional bathroom, providing plenty of space and privacy.
Since we want to make your stay as comfortable as possible, we also include coffee pods, instant coffee, tea (Yorkshire Gold and Peppermint), sugar, washing machine and dishwasher tablets, as well as bathroom essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel, cotton pads, q-tips and a hairdryer.
Should you require any other items for your arrival (milk, eggs, bread etc) please do let us know in advance and, where possible, we're happy to try accommodate.
Other details
On-street parking is available for around £18 per day (reduced for us locals) – please contact us for details if you'd like to bring your car.
Please note that the master bedroom has a king size bed and the guest bedroom has a double bed.
The master bedroom currently has curtains, which are not entirely black-out, however we've ordered new blackout blinds which should be installed by 20th August.
In the guest bedroom there is reduced ceiling height on one side of the bed, so taller people might find they'd like to take the other side of the bed.
The downstairs bathroom only has a shower and it can be accessed directly by both bedrooms (please see floor plan). Since there is a frosted glass door between the shower room and the room with the sink, for additional privacy: those in the guest bedroom may prefer to use the upstairs bathroom.
The bath in the upstairs bathroom is really big, and thus to fill it entirely can use up most of the hot water in the tank. So if guests would like a bath, they should boost the hot-water (we provide instructions on this or can do it remotely for you) so there is enough hot water for those wanting showers.
