Everything was v good except the heat. We welcomed the fan provided but it was still so hot. Staff were excellent.

Convenient location, close to tube station on Piccadilly line direct from Heathrow, Museums and Royal Albert Hall. Rooms small, very hot and poorly ventilated. Breakfast very limited. Staff very helpful.

Overall would recommend this hotel, if you are looking for a super location in South Kensington close to the museums and shopping this is the place to stay. On the downside, no AC, even in cooler months higher floors are very poorly ventilated, if you can sleep in 25c no problem

Honestly, for the price I paid for this hotel - it was not great. My room looked nothing like the pictures and I was placed on the ground floor in the tiniest room with hardly any natural light. I asked to be moved upstairs and they said that it’s better to stay on the ground floor because the building has no AC and that the heat rises. So just take note of that too. I would recommend the Mornington Kensington Hotel a couple blocks away and right by Earls Court service.

I enjoyed my stay at Sonder. The area is really quiet and safe and super close to public transports and restaurants. The rooms are small but it’s enough for one person.

Far too hot in the room, no air con, but the same cost as a hotel with air con. No fridge in the room either. The app has stopped working since the take over from Marriot Bonvoy too?! (maybe a coincidence) Lovely hotel otherwise, clean and friendly staff.

Great neighbourhood and comfortable

This is a great hotel as it is in a very neighbourhood, close to the underground, within walking distance of the South Kensington museums and some nice places to eat. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, had coffee and tea facilities, and a decent bathroom. Breakfast was included, although it is fairly simple buffet, but certainly more than enough. I’d definitely stay here again.

Something should have twigged when the write up said Ground Floor room. It was actually in the basement (yes, you hit B on the elevator to get there). An opaque window at the bottom of a light well is still a basement. I checked the pictures for room layout, and nowhere was there an indication that you could not walk around the bed. You can't. Both ends are jammed against walls. The very small bathroom's layout is not great. Its difficult to turn the shower on before getting into it because as soon as you open the door you flood the bathroom. The bathroom lighting is such, that you face is shaded in the mirror making it difficult to shave, or if female, put your makeup on. I travelled extensively in my last couple of years if work, and basement rooms in hotels is a new one on me...

We had an excellent 2-night stay @ the Gilbert. Calm, wellblinded room, good bed. It is 5-7 min walk from Gloucester Rd station and shorter to supermarket and pubs/restaurants. Breakfast was sufficient with fresh bread and freshly squeezed oranges. We will definitely recommend.

Well worth it.

Was a little apprehensive to book this “concept” hotel but need not have worried. Entry by access code, room entry by Bluetooth on phone, etc., was not even sure if there would be a human present. Room was small but perfectly formed, breakfast was self service. All of which presumably helps keeps the price down. Rooms not cleaned, nor towels refreshed, on a daily basis but nor would they be at home!! Lobby is actually manned 24 hours. In short, we were delighted with this lower priced option in a great area, 5 mins from Gloucester Road subway. Will use again.

Gilbert Hotel (Sonder)

Nice friendly staff. Breakfast was simple but good. Room (512) was tiny. No AC (a small fan provided) over a couple of hot days in London. Shower was adequate but not powerful… probably just as well as the shower cubicle was so small I couldn’t get out of the jet to wash / lather so an ordeal rather than a pleasure. One of the two downlighters was out in the bathroom. Good position close to Gloucester Road tube. Overall if it had been £120 a night I wouldn’t have a problem, but it was £500 for two nights and just not good enough.

Convenient hotel in a quiet pleasant area of Londo

We didn't need any special help so the fact that everything at the hotel seemed to be 'self-service' was fine. The breakfast room is quite noisy with coffee machine, toaster and juice machine all being used constantly. Not enjoyable if you make the mistake of sitting near the buffet. Otherwise, a great breakfast. Love the location. Close to Gloucester Road tube, a direct bus from our arrival at Marylebone Station. My favourite London district for strolling around.
