Romantic Retreat with King Suite, Luxurious Chalet Surrounded by Towering Maples

"We spent 5 wonderful days here and loved every second—the photos online don't even do it justice! The rooms and bathrooms were spotless and comfortable, and the kitchen, dining, and living areas were spacious. We also spent plenty of relaxing time out on the back deck. We’ll definitely be booking this place again next time we're in Haliburton. Thank you so much, Ron, for always being so quick and helpful with your messages!"

"We had a great trip to this cottage. We brought our dog with us and he had a blast playing in the lake with the kids.Kiki was a fantastic host. The whole booking, and check in process was very easy and communication back and forth was quick and simple. The cottage is well looked after and the lake is clean and beautiful.We recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway."

"Spent one night here. The accommodations were perfect, we wanted a quiet, clean place to spend the night and this was it. The owner was wonderful, the room was ready for us and our personal key codes were already entered in the locks. The shared bathroom and kitchen were modern and clean. "Great place to recharge and enjoy family timeWe spent four nights here with our two boys and it was exactly the reset we needed. The lake view is gorgeous — we found ourselves out on the deck every morning with a coffee just taking it in.The swimming was great right off the dock, and the kayak and water-bike was a great bonus :)The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed for a family stay, and the location is peaceful and quiet.We'd happily come back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

Deer Hill Cottage on 5 Lake Chain

"We stayed over labor day weekend 2025. The house was in rough shape (the VRBO photos blur out all the right places) but it was big enough for our family group and was pet friendly. The lock required an app download on your phone which never ended up working for us. I saw other reviews in 2023 mentioning there was not enough place settings but the owner added many more. There are still no dressers or benches or anywhere to unpack clothes. There is also no laundry for guest use which was also a pain (if there is no laundry, there should be more than one towel per person for a week's stay). The bedroom layout is the king bed is upstairs, and the two queen rooms are downstairs. The second bathroom is in one of the queen bedrooms. The day bed is off the dining room and has glass french doors with no curtains. The table now seats 8. There was a gas grill that worked great. Also to note, there are cameras with microphones on the front of the house right next to the picnic table and and back of the house (by the grill) which was NOT disclosed in the listing, (and creepy in my opinion.) When we checked in, we were informed that we were responsible for taking the trash to the landfill (no trash could be left at the house during checkout) which was also not in the listing and not convenient. Overall though the house worked well for us. Great views of the lake! If we were there during warmer days we would have taken advantage of the giant dock at the lake. "
