This is a beautiful home which unfortunately is not being as well maintained as it should be. In spite of that we had a lovely time and enjoyed the peace and serenity. The grounds are lovely and the pool looked great. Just a shame the weather wasn’t better for us to enjoy. This would be an ideal place to host a family get together with plenty of room for the grandkids too. Definitely good value for money.
This place was fabulous for us all to relax and create more family memories. Tennis pool and beautiful gardens for grandies to play. Everything we needed.
Needed a bit of a tidy around pool area with a couple of unmentionables left lying around from previous guests! Luckily we arrived early so grandbabies didn’t see anything.
Other than that it was fantastic.
This place would make a fantastic wedding venue. Plenty of garden photo ops. Great gardens.
On the flip side, it appears as if no-one had been here for a while. Hanging cob-webs, mould in the water filters, lawn needed mowing, outdoor furniture was strewn across the lawn, outdoor table was mouldy, oven needed a clean, etc. The new carpet meant a few doors wouldn't open so wardrobes were unavailable.

Longbush:
Good: beautiful spacious property, lots of room, lovely location, plenty of parking, well suited to a large group including kids, swimming pool, nice trees, close to Gladstone, half hour from Carterton and Masterton, big TV room, outdoor dining area and BBQNot so good: lots of rodents, lots of rodent poop. Plumbing of mixed quality, some showers not working. Kitchen equipment pretty minimal (just enough to make a basic meal) and not really adapted to large group needs.
Property was very tired & furnishings etc not as per photos.Upon arrival one of our guests filled a brush & pan with all the dead flies & that wasn't all of them as we left some for the cleaners to sort! Several cockroaches in the bathrooms too.Cheap 2 in 1 shower gel.Property Managers advised that the property was cleaned that morning so it was disgusting to find so many in a short time - all over the beds & floors etc upstairs. Assured us that a pest bomb had not been set off as that's what it looked like due to the amount around. Message on the fridge advised that there would be the "Odd Fly or cockroach" being it is a rural setting but this was ridiculous. Broken drain in shower & spa bath jets broken too - evidently cleaner advised them of that about 5 months ago & still not fixed. Gardens were a bit unkempt & the lawns could have also done with a mow. Pool hadn't been cleaned for a while either. Didn't go near the tennis court to see what state that was in.Great setting and perfect for a group - it was just a pity it was not quite as described. Property Managers were great & tried to raise issues with the owners who were NOT willing to refund any part of our booking for the less than expected or desirable conditions we found the property in. It is marketed as a luxury home & we felt it wasn't.Would definitely NOT recommend this property to anyone unless you get a significant discount or are happy with dead flies everywhere & cockroaches in the bathrooms.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness
The house has a lot going for it with several large living spaces, and good sized bedrooms, but we were disappointed in several aspects: the maintenance, lacking provisions, some kitchen equipment insufficient even for a medium sized group and some items not there, and most of all a major security concern. The place seems poorly maintained with door handles missing, some cabinetry coming apart and many lights not working, including outside lights.I did have to contact the property manager about the lack of provisions and security concerns. Yes they did help but it wasted at least 1/2 a day of our vacation, and added a great deal of stress, sorting out the provisions and the security issue couldn't be fixed until after we left. The thing is, all these issues were avoidable if the house had been properly provisioned, maintained and checked before we arrived.
Great house and gardens, lovely location, well equippped, open fires were an unexpected highlight. Great for family gathering. Slightly disapointed that the gardens hadn;t been mown for probably a month, only two tea-towels, no dishcloth, too few dishwashing powder tabs. Having said that, we had a wonderful weekend in a great location, a lovely spacious property.
