Abbey Hotel Roscommon
10/10 Excellent
"A magical castle stay with stunning grounds, rich history, and wonderful hospitality! We absolutely loved our stay at the Abbey Hotel! From the moment we arrived, check-in was seamless and the receptionist was delightfully welcoming. Staying here truly feels like staying in a castle. The grounds are meticulously landscaped and beyond stunning, and having the evocative ruins of the original abbey right behind the property adds so much character. The location is peaceful and relaxing while still being convenient to local highlights. We took a quick three-minute drive over to Roscommon Castle before dinner, which was open, easily accessible, and wonderful to explore. For dinner, we headed into town to Regan’s Gastro Pub, which was fantastic. The staff were chatty, warm, and attentive, and the meal was delicious. Our room was very spacious with two queen beds, and we all had a great night's sleep. Breakfast the next morning was top-notch, featuring all the traditional Irish breakfast favorites along with eggs made to order. Eating in the gorgeous dining room overlooking the vibrant flower gardens was a highlight in itself. We will definitely be recommending the Abbey Hotel to all our family and friends, and we can’t wait to return on our next visit to Ireland!"
The Landmark Hotel
8/10 Good
"Great location for River walks, shopping, bars and restaurants. There is an area for coffees, pastries and ice creams which is a nice touch. Also a great patio for drinks etc. Lovely dinner area and great service. Breakfast was very generous and tasty; Samantha was exceptional. Room was clean and comfortable but the toilet was weird and located too close to the sink. Amenities for women could use improvement - need body lotion and better shampoo/conditioner; it was the worse I ever used and I wished I hadn’t washed my hair there. At checkout we were told we owed a balance. Glad that my husband asked why we owed $ instead of just paying because it turned out to be a mistake on their side. The hotel lobby area was very warm and comfortable and Luka who checked us in was fantastic."

Delightful village retreat in the heart of Multyfarnham - 1 hour from Dublin
10/10 Excellent
"Una was very warm and helpful. We enjoyed our visit to Ireland and it was so nice to have a 'base camp' so centrally located in which to do that. We would recommend the Weirs to anyone who wants a lovely place to stay."
Cottage on Lough Ree / River Shannon in the heart of Ireland
10/10 Excellent
"Barley Harbour Lodge "Trout" was a wonderful place to stay. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, and it was very peaceful and quiet. Eva was a thoughful host and gave us a half dozen fresh eggs from her chickens. I enjoyed sitting outside with my morning coffee (on the days it didn't rain) and listening to the birds, and the cows made fun neighbors. It is also a good base for exploring the area, as it is centrally located. There are many fascinating sights nearby, including the mysterious Corlea Bog trackway and Rathcroghan archaeological site. We really enjoyed our week-long stay!"
