"Owners were helpful and tried their best with English / French translating. Pool was lovely- unclear on booking though that you got 2 slots a day - these had to be pre booked for the week on day of arrival. Apartment was clean and tidy on arrival - we hadn't realised we needed to bring all our own cleaning materials, bin liners etc but we will be better prepared next time. We were very grateful for our hire car as nearest shops were a bit too far for us to walk - especially in the heat we...

"La propriété est un véritable havre de paix. On s'y sent immédiatement comme chez soi. L'ameublement est raffiné et l'espace généreux. La vue et la proximité de la mer sont tout simplement magnifiques. Malheureusement, le logement semble très prisé, car il n'y a plus de disponibilités pour 2027. Quel dommage, car nous serions revenus l'année prochaine ! Peut-être y aura-t-il des disponibilités à l'avenir."

"No communications. Hidden costs, held to ransom after arrival to get keys. Dirty And worst of all no bed sheets , pillow cases or duvet covers. When asked where they were was told not listed in ad and hung up on. Agreed the listing didn’t say bedding included but didn’t say it wasn’t and for the expensive cost I would have expected it. This is basically a PGL style bunk house. Avoid at all costs."

Hôtel Le St Patrice

10/10 Excellent

"The communication before arrival and once we were there was great. The location is great, not right in the middle of the touristy area so it wasn't loud at night. No A/C but they had big windows to open as well as a fan. The room was very clean and comfortable."

Sure Hotel by Best Western Caen Mémorial

8/10 Good

"A warm reception from the staff, good English which always makes me feel guilty! Clean, comfortable and well maintained with every staff member engaging, helpful and professional. Rooms were comfy, food although a limited choice, was well prepared and tasty. Breakfast though was a little light on choice, but was ok. It has a small gym and a heated pool. My one little criticism is if it's raining there is nowhere outside that is covered. What i mean is there are no overhanging shelters of any kind. So if you are a smoker then rain will mean you need an umbrella. Other than that, plenty of parking, good location close to the memorial museum and only 30 mins from the ferry"

Kyriad - Caen Centre

10/10 Excellent

"This hotel was truly a hidden gem. We discovered it on Orbitz after a very disappointing experience at the Ibis Budget, and we could not have been happier with our choice. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, with fans and windows that opened, providing plenty of fresh air, which made a big difference. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. They also recommended a fantastic local restaurant for dinner, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit we went there twice. If you're visiting Caen and looking for a welcoming, comfortable place to stay, I would highly recommend this hotel."
