"We did not get to stay. My reservation was cancelled 1 hour before check in but I did not know as I was driving and the property manager messaged in the app when they should have called me. Due to a plumbing issue the booking was cancelled. They knew about the plumbing issue earlier in the day however they confirmed my check in time of 3pm 2 hours earlier at 1pm and then cancelled 1 hr before. We arrived to find the cleaner surprised to see us. There was water everywhere and the house was uninhabitable. The dishwasher was broken, the oven and stove were filthy and the place had been ruined. Although this was an unforeseen event they knew about it early in the day and yet did nothing to advise me. The property manager stated they tried to find us another place but couldn’t. We were stranded. I had to call 2 of the others in our group who hadn’t yet arrived to tell them to stay where they were until we could find another place. 4 of us sat in the driveway of this house trying to find another location for 6 people, on a Friday afternoon the last weekend of the school holidays. 2 guests had come from interstate. It was horrendous and very poorly managed. I had paid in full including the additional 1000 security deposit. After cancelling my reservation the property management company tried to take another 1073.65 from my credit card twice. They denied this however I had received notifications from my bank that this occurred at 3:50pm and again at 4:50pm."
