We took to walking around the Hutong neighborhoods right away, my father loved his morning walks in Houhai Park which was right behind the hotel. "A bit confusing at first. I'd booked the Xinjiang Hotel and they couldn't find the booking. Then referred me to the Xinjiang Plaza 100 meters away. Very frustrating when you cant find anyone that speaks English. Apart from that it was a very good place to stay. When I booked at the hotel it excluded breakfast. At the plaza the price included breakfast and was cheaper."

"The room was good enough for me, all i needed for a solo traveller. No english speaking on reveption tho so need the translator. Not too much within walking distance so good job taxi's are reasonably priced. To be fair everything in beijing is quite far from one another"
