"We were in for my daughter's college graduation and while this was a 30 minute drive it was great to get away and be in the country on the lake. The house was exactly as portrayed, if not better. It had everything you needed from the kitchen to all the toys. Highly, highly recommend if you're looking to have a nice get away in the country."

"The house was very reasonably priced so we did not go with high expectations. The location is great with spectacular views of Barren Lake. Everything is very simple with comfy beds and clean bathrooms. The rental was clean and comfortable. It could use updating but for the price it is more than reasonable and I can completely understand the owners not wanting to invest. Altogether we had a great time. Thank you"

Things that could make a wonderful VRBO property even better: - having a laminated copy of wifi name/password and cleaning/leave instructions available. All of this info was provided, but it has been my experience many people leave this in the house as well. - a corkscrew & bottle opener (luckily had my own) - recommendations for restaurants and/or places to buy food/liquor would be helpful too!"

"I rented the Sandhill Cottage with my husband, parents, aunt, and cousin as we visited Kentucky for the first time while taking a legacy trip. During this short trip, we were able to see where my Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandparents lived when they settled in Kentucky in the late 1700's and learned about my family heritage. We were even able to visit their gravesites and see the former home which still stands. While we didn't spend much time at Sandhill due to the amount of traveling...
