"This property was everything we were looking for and then some. My husband and I, along with my 90 yo mother and our dogs, stayed here for an extended Labor Day weekend (4 nights). It was peaceful and private, but also a good location to explore this area of Maine. We arrived at dark, so we didn’t have a chance to explore the grounds until morning. We were pleased with the house and its well-designed floor plan. What a treat when we woke up and saw the beautiful view of the tidal river and the pretty buildings across the way! The pictures on the listing are accurate, but the view was even better in person. The yard was perfect for our dogs, and while not fenced it, it allowed them room to stretch. We found a great dog park in nearby Thomaston. The beds and all furniture were comfortable, and the kitchen was excellent. It had everything needed for meal prep. We grilled on the deck each night and loved eating outside. We enjoyed exploring the area, including walking the dogs at the nearby Birch Point State Park, Owls Head Lighthouse, downtown Rockland & Camden, driving to the top of Mount Battie, and having an excellent lunch @ nearby McLoons Lobster Shack with a view of the harbor.The owner, Kay, is a pleasure to work with and very responsive to questions. She has taken great care of this property and it is at the top of our list for best places of the many VRBO properties we have rented. If we were to go back to this area of Maine, we would stay here. It was wonderful! "
