We didn't use the air conditioning at all, preferring to let the ample breeze off the water blow through the apartment. There are several great places to eat in Luquillo, and the calm-water Luquillo beach is a moderate walk or a short car ride away. (The beach in front of the apartment was great to walk or sit on, but the waves were a little too big for us to swim in during our stay.)One tip - the owner texts you the entry instructions 24 hours before arrival. My phone marked that text as spam, so I never saw it. (That's my fault.) The owner was very responsive on the phone, and quickly helped me get access."

"I picked the Surfing Turtle based upon positive reviews but I definitely didn’t have a good experience. I guess someone has to draw the short straw. That was me - my room faced the very BUSY and LOUD road that was about 4 feet from the door. The loud music from nearby clubs went on late into the night. I have stayed in busy and noisy hotels all over and have never had to resort to the earplugs that were left in the nightstand. The Google Map link sent to me wouldn’t work which created confusion about directions. I ended up 20 minutes away from the Inn and then had to backtrack. It was so poorly marked that the person who I called for help referenced a nearby coffee shop in order for me to find it. No ice either. Definitely would not recommend. "
