Family place with everything you need except food, room to relax in the woods on a small river with yard games, comfortable seating around the fire pit and a surprise laser light show when you plug in the string of lights around the porch. We enjoyed our stay.
We went with a friend group of adults and left the children at home. The house was clean and beautiful with plenty of space for everyone. The weather wasn’t very hot for July, but that made it great for using the fire pit. We never left the property. The yard is huge and open. It was great for playing yard games like cornhole and bocce. We also spent some time in the river, which is sandy and beautiful. The hosts were helpful and responsive with any questions we had.
This home and property is gorgeous! So much room to roam and enjoy nature. Tucked away and isolated enough with access to plenty of things. The front porch will treat you to hummingbird central, all day long. The backyard is HUGE with horseshoe pits, tire swing, fire pit, river for swimming and fishing, grilling, chilling or just running around. My dog loved it as much as the rest of the family. The house is spacious and very well stocked, and super welcoming. It was nice to have the family all together and bonding and off our devices, because there was so much to enjoy. John was great to work with and quick to respond. We truly hope to come back and try a different season as we fell in love with the place. Thanks for a great vacation John and Roz! 😁
John and Roz were great and very accommodating! We loved the cabin at first sight and took in all the views and the river and fishing and atv riding, porch and patio sitting and more! It was very relaxing and my daughter and I drove to Ludington one day and my husband and son went fishing in Baldwin off the Pere Marquette trail one day! It was perfect weather for bonfires and laying by the river or swimming in it!! Then before we left yesterday we had a great downpour that my daughter got caught In because she was down at the river lol but we finished watching it on your lovely porch! My dogs were in love with it too especially the river and huge yard and trails! So much nature and scenery to see! Thank you so much for one of our best family vacations! We hope to be back again!
Great stay at this cabin/house on the Little Manistee
My family of 5 had a wonderful time at John's house on the Little Manistee River. The house is a charming cabin with plenty of room for a large family and the 4 acre yard is teaming with wildlife and things to do. We saw deer, chipmunks, rabbits, and lots of birds. The house was fully stocked with kitchen supplies including spices, syrup, ketchup etc. The smart TVs were great and the internet was fast enough for my teenagers to use the Xbox. There is plenty of outdoor things to do in the area. We enjoyed fly fishing on the Little Manistee (6 mile bridge area was nice) and the Pere Marquette in the area of Branch. We checked out Ludington one day, walking out to the lighthouse on the jetties, and eating at a brewpub. I had the top off my Jeep the entire week and we drove on many dirt trails along the Little Manistee looking for fishing spots. Overall it was a great family vacation and we will be back some day.
