  • Lovely view of old Lviv from the top of the tower in the center of Ploscha Rynok. That's the Latin Cathedral, one of the oldest still-active churches in the city. To climb the tower, go up the first four flights of stairs to the ticket desk. The way is clearly marked with signs in multiple languages, including English. At the desk, pay 10 hrivna and then keep climbing up, up, and up until you reach the open deck at the top of the tower. Then enjoy the view!

Nice hotel on main street across from Old Town.

Wonderful Old Town with some great churches, museums. Lots of wonderful coffee Houses. Very tourist friendly. The Squares always busy with street performers. A real nice fun city.

Nice, but not "grand"

This is a partially refurbished quite old hotel. As such, it has a dual quality: one is a certain measure of "grandness," the other is a bit dated and worn. Thus, in the 3 rooms we had, the ceilings were high, nice and fancy decoration on the ceilings and walls, but the rugs were worn and old. Somewhat faded bathroom with its accessories, just a shower. No room safes. The staff were a bit surly, or perhaps detached would be a better word, but compliant. The location is absolutely fantastic, in the very center of Lviv, on the main plaza.

Extraordinary customer service - I fell ill the night of my stay and after midnight, upon calling the front desk, they sent someone out to procure medication for me without any expectation of payment. Without this service I would have never made my flight out in the morning. The rooms were in superb condition. Obviously the one key per room policy was a tad inconvenient but overall I was extremely pleased with my stay. They even called me in the morning that my taxi was waiting and had a breakfast box ready for me (even though I could not eat it). Thank you Grand hotel for such a great experience even under the circumstances. Dyakuyu!

Great old hotel in central location

The Grand is a great old hotel in Lviv. Bathrooms have been re-done and are super modern--rooms vary in size. For great views and size, request the top floor rooms. Other rooms can be on the back side of the building with a courtyard view and/or tiny. Either way, the location beats many other hotels in Lviv and the staff are wonderful!

Lviv is lovely, and so is the Grand Hotel.

Lviv is lovely, and so is the Grand Hotel. The staff are very friendly and very professional. The restaurant was great, and the bar was a comfortable place to catch up on email, while drinking a great beer. I will return to Lviv, and when I do, I will return to the Grand Hotel.

A very nice place to stay in downtown Lviv

This is the 4th stay I've had at the Grand Hotel, in the beautiful city of Lviv. Every stay has been very enjoyable and comfortable. The hotel is located in the heart of Lviv, and it's very easy to walk to many attractions and restaurants from the Grand Hotel. The front desk staff is always very friendly and helpful, and speak English. The free breakfast is amazing, with many tasty foods including several that I would consider typical Ukrainian (meat and vegetable platters, brown bread#. There are also basic foods #oatmeal/porridge, eggs, fruit) sure to please any palate. The breakfast is usually served buffet-style, so you can eat to your heart's content. The building housing the hotel is older, but it has been renovated and includes all the features of a modern hotel. The architecture and historic photos in the hotel are very interesting to view. During my recent stay, the hotel was decorated quite nicely with a Christmas tree, and even had a Santa! I give the Grand Hotel a hearty thumbs up, and plan to stay there again during my next trip to Ukraine.

Almost perfect

Everything about this hotel is great except the wireless internet signal. Not really the hotels fault as it is a very old building with 1 foot + thick walls in most places. If you absolutely need wireless the best signal is in the dining room, or you could probably wander the halls till you get good signal. Other than that the staff is awesome, the hotel is clean, charming, and comfortable, there is an ATM in the lobby, the staff is very fluent in english and willing to help out any way they can. I will always use this hotel when I go to Lviv.
