Negatives are that all the floorboards upstairs are very noisy, as are the 2 showers, to the extent that they couldn't be used if people were sleeping. We also found a pair of secateurs on the wall outside which was a massive concern as our 5 year old granddaughter was with us! The keyholders...

"Immaculately clean, perfectly equipped, well though-out for a super stay by as many as four. The silence was only interrupted by occasional sounds of cows and sheep in the adjoining fields and the call of the resident pheasant. Diane was welcoming and helpful. Only two suggestions for her: a spot of milk, a bit of sugar and a few tea bags to accompany the very welcoming scones and clotted cream would have been great (and taking a plane to a couple of doors that don't quite open). "Located on the edge of a tiny rural Devon village, this property was the perfect getaway for us and our dog. The village pub is great (although you have to be up for the walk up the steep road to get there), and the property hosts were there if you needed them, totally non-invasive if you didn’t. They left very useful recommendations, which we followed and were not disappointed. The patio area is a lovely sun trap well into the evening. A bit more garden for our bigger dog would’ve been great,...

"We met the owner upon arrive and where made to feel very welcome. The beautiful grounds, house and location was perfect. The family rooms were huge and perfect for little ones. "Adorable and quirky little house, oozing with character. Comfy beds, great location for local shops and restaurants, and as a base to explore the area. Only slight negative for us was getting used to town noises as we live in a village. The Combat Collection at Cobatton, and Instow beach (both recommended by the host) are worth a visit, and my boys (16 & 14) loved outdoor laser tag at Survival Combat Games."

"This property can allow you to have a break away from all the modern electronics that we have today. It gave me a feeling of being back in the 70’s, but it is a comfortable bungalow with an excellent view. The countryside provides for some excellent walking amongst sand dunes and along the seashore. The local natives are very friendly"

"Really appreciated the ramped access, the lodge is at one level. Suited us well as our son has limited mobility. Co-op just down the lane was great, we went everyday. We had a lot of rain but the terrace seating must be lovely in the summer. We still appreciated the incredible views from there, we just didn’t sit out. There were four of us staying and the living area was very comfortable."
