A hidden gem

Fantastic hotel from the outside its very decieving. A real tardus inside. Very clean, all staff from reception, to restaurant, to breakfast were excellent. Excellent size room and very clean. The only constructive comment would be that the ensuites and bedrooms, landings etc could be updated, but that wouldn't put me off coming back.

Beautiful older hotel. Difficulty in accessing small off street parking lot. Entry from lot requires carrying luggage up numerous steps to get to lobby. Would be very difficult for older individuals.

I had booked 4 nights for a business trip but had to leave 2 nights early was told but the receptionist I would have to contact Expedia about refund and when spoke with Expedia they said hotel had refused to refund at least one nights stay , room wise was big and bed was ok restaurant was good and breakfast was good

Overall our stay was fairly satisfactory. Room just fair. Food excellent. We had prepaid for our accommodation so we were very disappointed & annoyed when on checking out we were presented with another bill for our stay.. Also, the staff member noted that we’d been celebrating both my husband’s & my birthdays- a bit late to notice this when we were leaving. It would have been nice for this to have been recognised with some token during our stay. Overall a bit disappointed with our stay. More attention to detail needed.

The breakfast was excellent and orders taken for main breakfast and self service for cereal etc. Staff member was most helpful and took order for what you wanted rather than full breakfast. Did not use spa. The breakfast room was spotless

My recent stay at the Castle Hotel was really good. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. I ate in the restaurant and the steak sandwich was honestly amazing. A perfect hotel for anyone travelling with work.

The facility is pretty disjointed, long walk from parking with luggage-up and down multiple stairs. Room pretty dated, but clean. Staff was very friendly, multiple dining options and shops/dining wirhin walking distance.
