I love staying at Dear Hotel. It’s very central to lots of things in Madrid, most importantly it looks over Plaza de España. I appreciated the water filter/fountains on every floor. Will definitely be staying again.

Property is in a great location. Staff was great, we checked in late at night. Misleading about amenities like coffee and snacks (all in vending machines, not free.) No staff at the bar by the pool from 12:00-14:00 while we were visiting. We were placed in a room on the first floor and it was extremely noisy & bright being so close to the street.

The hotel is in a safe, convenient location — great for shopping, public transportation, and walking around the city. However, the room was disappointing: the bed was uncomfortable, there was noticeable dust throughout (including on the eucalyptus plant), and the bathroom had an unpleasant smell upon arrival with stains on the shower floor and walls. Breakfast was also underwhelming, with limited options and overly oily fried eggs despite the staff’s friendly service. On a positive note, the gifts provided (tote bag, sandals, and wine) were a thoughtful and rare touch that we truly appreciated.

As Close to Perfect as It Gets

This hotel comes closer to perfection than anywhere I’ve ever stayed. Every aspect feels thoughtfully considered, and it truly delivers on all fronts. The location is excellent, placing you within walking distance of everything worth seeing, yet it’s wonderfully quiet and peaceful inside. The staff are genuinely warm and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. There’s a subtle, pleasant scent throughout the hallways, which immediately sets a calming tone. The design is clever and cohesive, with smart solutions in every detail — clearly the result of intentional and meticulous planning. The rooftop pool is a highlight, offering a serene spot to relax with a beautiful view. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with no gap in the middle, which is surprisingly rare and deeply appreciated. If I had to mention one small flaw, it would be that the duvet cover was open at both ends — not a major issue, just a minor note in an otherwise outstanding experience

Perfect location for a friends’ retreat. We are four high school friends and luckily we found a conjoined two rooms to fit out needs. And.. it is 10 min walk to the palace, plaza mayor, and the shopping destinations off Gran Via. Metro stops for theee lines, 2,3, and 10 right outside of the hotel door. Very nice stay for us

Hotel is in a very good location, walkable distance from interesting places. Hotel needs some maintenance, replace carpets, etc. Breakfast is good, however the area is small compared with hotel size and you need to reserve a time. Front desk Adrian and Paula were very helpful. Raul and the guys at restaurant were also very polite and attentive.
