Escape to this peaceful mountain lodge with plenty of room to relax and spread out!
Elks Crossing at Whiskey Ridge is your perfect mountain getaway. Nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains, our lodge sits at an elevation of just under 5,000 feet, providing spectacular views of numerous mountain ranges. From peaceful serenity to an action-packed adventure, our lodge provides it all!

Accommodations
Elks Crossing can accommodate up to 10 guests. On the main level, enjoy a master bedroom with ensuite and french doors to the wrap-around porch. Wake up to a beautiful sunrise from the comfort of your bed. A 2nd guestroom and full bathroom are also located on the main floor. This floor boasts a large kitchen with a dining area and a family room with a fireplace. With windows in all directions, you can soak up the beautiful mountain setting while enjoying the space.
The lower level features a large game room with a pool table, bar, and game table. Catch your favorite team playing on the TV from an additional lounging area (the couch turns into a full-size bed as well). Make beautiful memories with family and friends playing board games, cards, or even a friendly game of poker!
Towards the back of this level you will find a bunk room that sleeps 6. There are two bunk beds. One has a twin on top, full on bottom, and a twin trundle. The other has a twin on top, bottom, and trundle. French doors lead out onto the deck. Just outside of the bunk room is a full bathroom and a fully equipped laundry room.
The lodge features two decks. The main level deck wraps around the lodge and provides many areas to sit and relax, read, or soak in the beautiful views. The lower level is where the fun happens. This large deck space offers room to play corn hole, ladder toss, and ring toss. There is ample seating on this level as well. Just out the back door on the main level is a charcoal grill with easy access to the kitchen and dining space. Nothing is better than burgers, chicken, or steak cooked over charcoal! After dinner, enjoy the beautiful star-filled sky around the firepit. Make smores and pies over the fire for a delicious dessert.

Location, Location, Location
Elk frequent this area of the mountains, hence our name Elks Crossing. The Elk will graze in the meadow just off the front deck. They frequently walk the wrap-around driveway. There are many trails that run through the property. Elk can be seen from all areas of the lodge. Please maintain a safe distance between you and the Elk.

Elks Crossing at Whiskey Ridge is situated in the Great Smoky Mountains. The area has a rich mountain history and everything you need from unique shops and restaurants to hiking and skiing. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway are just minutes away. It doesn’t stop there! The lodge is the perfect home base for your mountain adventures. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are just under 70 miles away; Asheville (Biltmore Mansion) is just 28 miles away; Bryson City (The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad) is just 22 miles away and Cherokee (Harrah’s Casino) is a short 14 miles away.

Our lodge is located just minutes away from ATV trails! Feel free to bring your ATVs (or rent them) and enjoy the beautiful mountain terrain!

Getting Here
**4-wheel drive or AWD required*. The lodge offers plenty of parking for numerous vehicles. Access to the lodge is just a short drive from US-19 on gravel roads. We suggest you take the ride up slow as there is always wildlife nearby. All types of vehicles navigate the mountain terrain. Motorcycles, low-sitting vehicles like Corvettes and Slingshots, are not ideal for the mountain roads, we suggest that you do not bring these vehicles if you reserve the lodge. We suggest that guests purchase travel insurance with weather-related coverage. This will protect you, should you not be able to access the lodge due to weather. We do not offer refunds due to weather and road-related issues. The amazing views that our lodge offers are possible because you have to travel UP a mountain. The first 1/4 mile is bumpy and steep but levels out as you travel. The road is wide compared to many mountain roads. There are many families that live year-round on this mountain and drive the roads daily. We also suggest that you arrive during daylight hours. We have posted a video on our Facebook page that gives you an idea of the drive-up. (https://fb.watch/eNj-Z27AdJ/) Elks Crossing at Whiskey Ridge is definitely worth the drive to the top!

Reservations
Upon reserving Elks Crossing at Whiskey Ridge we ask that you read the contract, sign, initial, and return back to us. A week prior to your visit we will send you a personal door code assigned to you for your stay, directions, and an information packet about the lodge. The purpose of the information is for your protection and ours and provides you with detailed information on what you can expect from your stay. We are always a phone call or text away should you need our assistance while enjoying the lodge.
The House Keepers who service the lodge clean and sanitize all bed linens after each guest, including the blankets, comforters, and shams. All major touchpoints in the home are cleaned and sanitized prior to your arrival. There are three external security cameras on the property that monitor the driveways around the home. These cameras are in place for your protection and ours.

Between Gods weather for the week and a beautiful home to stay in, it was as close to perfect as one could possibly hope for. We spent time with our grown children, eating like royalty and site seeing. Yes worth your time!!!

Our family loved our time at the lodge. It snowed about a foot while we were there. Make sure you carry snow chains in the winter. The lodge has everything you need for a wonderful time in the mountains ❤️

Elks Crossing at Whiskey Ridge had beautiful views. During our stay we experienced a rainbow three different days. We also had the experience of seeing a set of 3 elk visiting the property. I was very concerned about the transition process of the house, Julia said it would be seamless and true to her word it was. The house had amazing amenities, everything you needed was there. Enjoyed our time at Elks Crossing.

We loved how roomy the cabin was for our group of 11. Lots of games to play if you just want to hang out at “home” but close enough to towns to enjoy all they have to offer and stay close. Only about 1 1/2 hours to Gatlinburg, TN and you have a very scenic route to get there. The road up is long but even after rain it was accessible. Absolutely loved the fire pit grill, will be purchasing one for our home!! Would definitely consider staying there again if we have a large group going again.

Wonderful house with amazing views and excellent owners. Great communication with the owners. This house has everything you would ever need! It's very well outfitted in the kitchen, has games, pool table, excellent internet service. Everything you need and more, no issues at all during our stay. Central to many activities, restaurants, breweries, dollywood, hiking, etc.. The access to the ATV trails from the house was also great and fun to ride/hike those trails. We had a great time and will be back to this house in the future!

We had an amazing time at the well appointed and very comfy Elks lodge. The layout was terrific, views stunning, kitchen and home had everything we needed and more. Elk were a plenty as well as chipmunks, ground hogs, and oh my my so many hummingbirds. Its a long road up the mountain, super bumpy at the start, I personally wouldn’t recommend driving up in a low vehicle and be careful at night. Certainly worth every bump, twist and turn! Maggie Valley and surrounding areas are amazing and you can do everything within an hour’s drive.

I am a person that never takes the time to do reviews but for this vacation rental I must. Our family of 5 just returned from our stay last night. This lodge has everything you could ask for and more. The owners are so very helpful and accommodating. The lodge is in a perfect location to have your own privacy. We brought our side by side to ride the many trails around the lodge. The lodge itself is absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. You can tell the owners really care about wanting to make your stay special. The cleanliness, the decor, and the amenities are so much more than we anticipated. Thank you Josh and Julia for a family vacation we will cherish forever.

We had an amazing family vacation! We have stayed in several homes in various locations and must say this is the most well stocked home we’ve stayed in! The beds were very comfortable, the home was extremely clean, and the decorations were on point! The extra touches of providing hand soaps, toiletries, spices, kitchen needs, extra blankets, dog treats, etc. were an added bonus that makes this house stand out above the rest. We also really enjoyed the pool table and the amazing sunrises. Our first time up the mountain was a little scary as it was during a torrential downpour. After coming and going a few days you get use to it… just make sure you have 4 wheel drive on and ensure you have what you need when you leave/return. We wanted the full mountain experience and this house doesn’t disappoint. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The house was so well equipped and set up. No corners cut and everything you could ever need for a vacation home. Updated appliances, clean, spacious, well maintained, you could see maintenance was ongoing and the owner of the property did not cut any corners. Roads well maintained, outdoor grill, fire pit, spacious outdoor balcony seating, expensive qualitly pool table and que sticks. Linens were so fresh and clean, home had dehumidifier which was awesome drying things indoor. The view was spectacular and home was so pet friendly, when we checked in you would have never known pets were allowed it was so clean. There were some wonderful touches, such as treats for dogs with doggy bags and spare leashes, toels for cleaning wet pooches after walks, and bowls incase you forgot your own, some starter supplies were there for laundry and kitchen, couldnt be better. House directory had great information available and Maggy Valley was perfectly situated for all the surrounding attractions and destinations. Our 4th trip to Blue Ridge and by far best home to stay.

The house was as pictured, very nice, clean and well equipped as compared to some other rentals in the area. We have stayed in Maggie Valley area several times a year for many years. Our family vacay this time consisted of 8 people:3 generations- grandparents in their 70's to grade schoolers and 2 dogs. The road up was the first adventure- a front wheel drive mini van loaded made it up the mountain in lower gears without trouble, even in rain and sleet. All wheel drive a lot easier. We saw no wildlife from house but made up for it in Maggie Valley and Cherokee. We hiked, UTV'ed, horse backed, viewed elk and turkeys and enjoyed the rain and sleet from the covered deck. The sunrise on the one or two sunny days was amazing. The only things we would add to the house is handrail in one bath and a HOTTUB on one of the decks. We were wishing for a glass of wine and to sit in a hot tub and enjoy the view. The only negative was the girls didn't want to come home!! We are already trying to get schedules worked out for another trip. Thank you for letting us use your warm welcoming spacious home to make family memories.

This place is fully stocked with anything you could think of! Master bed is the most comfortable I've ever been on! It was wonderful to feel so well taken care of. It did rain most of our trip so the views were not exactly what we were wanting, but luckily we ended up with one night and one morning of absolutely gorgeous views. The drive up- okay- this is where it gets tricky. The hosts do their absolute best to prepare you for this drive- but if you don't have any mountain experience, I'm not sure you can be fully prepared. That being said, they suggested we arrive during the day, which we did- and I'm so thankful we did. After the first Drive up, it was much easier and not a big deal- but the first time was definitely something to remember. Overall, it was a great stay. The hosts have great communication. There Was a tree down on the power line when we Got there (no power disruption) and they had someone there to fix it within a couple of hours. I highly recommend this place.

Elks Crossing is everything listed and more. This beautiful lodge boasts breathtaking mountain views and the sunrises were amazing to watch. The lodge is beautifully decorated and very clean. The kitchen has everything available you need and more. Just bring the food. We cooked breakfast and dinner every day and there wasn’t anything in the kitchen we needed that we didn’t find for our use. There were so many little extras available that we were in disbelief that a rental property would offer so much for your every day needs. We enjoyed the game room with the pool table, many kids games available to use, movies, outdoor ring toss, even a hammock to enjoy. All the furniture was comfortable including the outdoor furniture. Sitting on the deck enjoying the view, fresh air, listening to nature was so relaxing. We even saw a huge male elk which was awesome. Privacy is terrific. This lodge was by far heads and shoulders above any rental we have used over the years. We vacation in a cabin setting at least one a year. There’s plenty to do and see within a reasonable driving distance. We have already decided to use this lodge in the future. For our family, it was absolutely wonderful.

The house itself is gorgeous. The road to get to the house on the other hand was heart stopping, and not in a good way. It is a one way gravel road up the side of the mountain, that other people live on. That means some one will have to back down or up into someone's gravel driveway that is also a hairpin turn. The only space there is for two cars is about a mile from the top/bottom and it is only the size of maybe two cars. We took two trucks and my father, who is in his 70s drove one, while my husband drove the other. Not a fun 25 minute drive. We stayed one night and decided that since we had planned on going places and not staying in the house the whole time it would be better if we just left. My son, who is autistic, couldn't handle the drive up and down each day for the week. I might add that if you are used to mountain roads this is an amazing house and you should check it out, it is just not for the faint of heart or city slickers.

This was a last minute booking that went smooth. The lodge had plenty of room for our party of 6.. They really thought of everything, we even found a pair of binoculars which was nice as the moon was nice and full when we were there..You will see a beautiful sunrise every morning from the 2nd floor wrap around balcony/porch which there is also french doors in master BR that open to this balcony. The views were AMAZING !!! ..Humming birds in the morning flying around as well. Kitchen stocked with everything you will need to cook, just bring your food. Fire pit, bbq grill there as well. Pool table down stairs with additional flat screen, fireplace, bathroom and bedrooms which is great if you have young adults that want to get away from the older adults or vice versa.....The drive up to the lodge was not a problem at all for us in a huge suburban. They did send us some maps to help us find the place however we just used our cell phones gps as it seemed easier and had no issues, gps drove us straight there. You will have to take your trash to the waste mgmt place in town when you are done with your stay which proved a little challenging since we did not have a truck bed and had 6 people and luggage etc, to also load up..so just double bag all your trash.(they provided plenty of bags)The waste mgmt place was very easy to deal with and VERY quick.. There were some neighbors around however you don't even know they are there, and besides 1, you cant even see them from the lodge, very quiet. This place is also close to Cherokee,Bryson City, and we even took a day trip to Gatlinburg.. So if you are looking for beautiful mountain views, beautiful sunrise, peace and quiet, plenty of space, no one to bother you, this is it..We would definitely stay here again without question .

This lodge was beautiful. The hosts anticipated our every need. The road up was a little daring but we managed going slowly. If you have 4 wheel or all wheel no problem. The views were spectacular. Very clean and tons of games and enjoyed the fire pit. Very centrally located.

House and views are really quite nice. Road up is very very bumpy in parts with deviations of about a 8” to a foot deep in 4 or 5 spots but drivable. I have a Ford Explorer. There is a sign at the bottom as you turn on to the dirt and gravel incline that reads “four week vehicles highly recommended”. However I never used 4 wheel drive up the gravel and hard packed dirt incline but was glad I had clearance due to the holes. Looks like they are going to do some repairs on the holes since there are piles of gravel on side of this road up but they look like they’ve been sitting there awhile since some have weeds . Overall the incline is steep in spots but it’s the sudden dips to be careful of , which are drivable if you go slow over them . Once at the house, it’s worth the trip up and the host is very responsive to questions via text. Soco gap, water rock knob, and blue ridge are close by for lots of hiking choices ( mountain to sea trails marked “MTS” are great! ) and we like to bicycle the blue ridge too. The trail across the street at soco gap parking spot just off hwy 19 on blue ridge is excellent!, ( not the very short trail at that soco parking spot. Rather walk to right , cross blue ridge parkway at road gate and You'll see the trail on the other side. It is an easy to moderate trail with wooden bridges and streams and a lot of level walking too ) we just left Oct 7 2022 after stating 6 days and am passing this on

We had such a great time at Elks Crossing. The property was so welcoming. The check in process was easy. Our host went above what we were used to. The extra touches were amazing- a ceiling fan in every room BUT also the one for the bedside. The road to the property was not as hard to navigate from what I had read on the reviews. The view was breathtaking and so relaxing to sit in the porch and just drink coffee. I would recommend this property to anyone. It was fantastic!
