"this is a small hotel but needs to improve on maintenance big time. Dining hall greets you as you enter the hotel and its full of flies and bad smell, probably from the garbage room beside elevator. took a peek in the kitchen and its filthy. linens are stained and dirty linens lying around everywhere in the corridor. If they can maintain it well, this could be an excellent budget hotel."

"We could not have dreamt of a better place to start our Sri Lanka trip. The place is beautiful, nested among trees at the end of a road and along the river. Our room was brand new, comfortable and colorful. The bathroom was open to the exterior giving you the impression of showering outdoor, while the Air conditioning inside keeps you cool. "There’s easy transportation to the property and a shopping center is within walking distance. Staff was really helpful. The only issue I had was water provided was what they collected and said was filtered. That’s not acceptable or safe. I asked for bottled water and was charged for it."

"The property is situated in a peninsula in Kalutara on a road with almost no traffic, a pleasant surprise in such a busy (and wonderful) city. The beach is lovely, but not swimmable because of strong currents. The room was large and bright. The washroom was clean, and the shower was awesome. "The villa was spacious, clean and comfortable with an amazing pool and gardens. We stayed here for 5 nights and were very well looked after by the manager of the property and the ladies who were there to cook meals if needed. The food cooked for us was the best that we had during our two week stay in Sri Lanka! Communications with the owners while booking our stay were so easy and pleasant. We would highly recommend this villa for a relaxing stay in this part of the country."

fabulous service in a great hotel, as always!!!

"this was our second stay at this hotel & just before we were to check in some friends told us about the horrible room experience they had & how we should change our hotel. since our first visit was great I wasn't sure if this feedback was good for the entire hotel or just an unfortunate experience they had so I decided to call the hotel & speak to them & share my concerns. the lady at the customer service desk heard me out & reassured me that there was no cause for concern & told me someone would call me back during regular office hours the next day to clarify any doubts. this did not happen so negative feedback on this. however, I sent them an email listing out all the rooms that were part of the group & soon enough I got a reply reassuring me of the impeccable taj service as always. upon check in they had upgraded all our rooms to the next category & they specifically assured us that we would go back carrying forward the same experience as we did the first time & that is exactly what happened. super stay & full marks to the Taj Colombo team, especially Niluka who made our stay superb."

Great trip Cinnamon Grand Colombo

"Strict security just before entering the hotel ... And greeted by an elegent atmosphere at the lobby... Check-in process is smooth, staffs were all friendly and speaks good English... Drinks were also served during check-in... Rooms are overall clean ... Except for some stains on the mattress... Covered with the protector so not much of an issue... Breakfast were good and have a wide variety of food... Salads, cold cuts, breads and pastries... Western eggs and bacon, asian, local cuisine.... Egg counter is just beside the pool... Highly recommend for business and short family stay... Will definitely come again"
