Puri Melaka

Puri Melaka

8/10 Good
"Hotel Puri is a beautiful heritage property in an excellent location for exploring historic Melaka. Jonker Walk, the river and many of the main sights are within easy walking distance. The heritage character of the hotel was one of the highlights, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We also appreciated being allowed to check in early, and breakfast was included and convenient. The biggest drawback was our double twin room, which was extremely small. There was very little usable floor space—we actually had to move the two beds together just to create enough space to lay down a prayer mat. With luggage in the room, it felt particularly cramped. I would recommend checking the room size or booking a larger room category if space is important to you. One thing to know if arriving on a weekend: road closures around Jonker Walk can prevent Grab from reaching the hotel entrance. Our Grab had to drop us near the Jonker entrance, followed by roughly a 10-minute walk with our luggage. When leaving, we found the area near Tamil Methodist Church, about a five-minute walk from the hotel, much easier for Grab pickup. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location and heritage atmosphere are excellent for a short visit to Melaka, but I would choose a larger room if staying again."

The Pines Melaka

The Pines Melaka

10/10 Excellent
"Hotel and room was great at the price point, just unfortunate didn't manage to get any early check-in on the day of arrival. In fact, only got keys to room 15 mins after the standard check-in time. Apart from that, enjoyed the balcony in the room and the large bathtub too. Buffet Breakfast was great with a wide selection of food. Hotel is also located within walking distance with good food options. Oh, another thing. Love the pool, that actually comes with sea salt rather than the usual chlorine, which does more wonders for hair and skin than the chlorine would."
